I know that if we win we have home field advantage unless the bizzaro world tie occurs between GB and DET, but I have yet to find an explanation of what the three team tie breaker is. If we win and Cowboy's win and either the Lions or GB win, what is the formula that has us on top?

Our record vs. NFC opponents I think. We only lost to the Rams and the Cowboys. They've lost more NFC games.

Superior conference record

Hawks are 9-2, our best would be 10-2
Dallas is 7-4, best they can be is 8-4
GB is 8-3, best would be 9-3
But Det is 9-2 and would tie us at 10-2. Must be another level they go to to break that tie.

SC

12-4 Sea
12-4 Dal
12-4 GB/DET

-Head to head sweep is thrown out because all 3 teams didnt play each other.

Conference record tie breaker. (*who ever wins)

10-2 SEA
10-2 DET*
9-3 GB*
8-4 Dallas

In the case of DET vs SEA, it will go to common games.

If that happens, Seattle will be 5-0 against the Packers, Panthers, Giants, and Cardinals (twice), and the Lions will be 3-2 against the Packers (twice) Panthers, Giants, and Cardinals.

There you go.

There you go.

We also destroy Detroit in SOV.. so even if common games were tied for whatever reason, we'd win that tiebreaker too.

Three or More Clubs

(Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.)

1. Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants.
2. Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.)
3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
5. Strength of victory.
6. Strength of schedule.
7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
9. Best net points in conference games.
10. Best net points in all games.
11. Best net touchdowns in all games.
12. Coin toss
