Russell wasn't trash tonight, but he wasn't able to carry his team either. Most of his completions were underneath to backs and TEs, dink and dunk stuff. The only times he tried to push the ball down field tonight he was off target or into coverage. Luckily he got a PI and a TD on two of them. Just as luckily, Diggs and Adams dropped balls thrown to them. I think his QBR was 101.3, but anyone watching this tape isn't going to be afraid of him.

Conversely, Geno only pushed the ball down field a few times as well. He got two TDs and a 16-yard completion to Lockett, but I'm guessing teams are going to start crowding the line on us until he can prove he can air it out.

With great respect my friend he wasn’t trash at all. As ever he hit his throws and mostly avoided the pass rush.

The Hawks D hung in and he finally got stuffed, when it counted.

The 12s tonight were freaking awesome and Geno played darn well.

He beat RW and showed he’s a lot better than many of us, including me, thought he’d be. I admit I was wrong about Geno a eat my crow humbly.

Denver is a good team and has a great running game, plus Wilson.

However as my wife said as the game ended RW = Loser, tonight at least.
I thought Denver would be better. They look like the third best team in their division which is one of the best in the NFL.

There coach seems a bit in over his head at the moment. Your paying $300 million for a qb and you try a 63 yard field goal?

Sorry Welshers, I respectfully disagree with you. Russell Wilson's not trash, he is a damn good QB, may not be as good as he think but a damn good one.

I'm not sure it was just the coach. I think if Russ had lobbied for a chance to go for it on 4th down, the coach would have gone with it.

I agree he's a good QB overall. But also overpaid and overrated. I did not think he was good tonight. Maybe trash was a bit much but the only thing I saw him do well was dump the ball off. Should have thrown at least 2 picks. Got very lucky with a PI and a long touchdown on two more terrible throws. He benefited by getting to play vs a rookie CB drafted in the 5th round in his first ever NFL game. Yes I thought Russ was bad tonight. I can understand your side though

Russ wasn't horrible in this game but I didn't see much that indicated he was different or suddenly elevated his game. It's not to say he won't as the season goes on and he gets more comfortable with his teammates. What we saw today was what we saw the last couple of seasons.

The great things are still there. The deep throws. The deep middle. The deep bomb. He did all of those. Russ attacks the sidelines really well. He did that today. He exploited with the TEs. I didn't expect that to happen but it did. His pre-snap reads are still really good. Multiple times diagnosing a blitz and dumping it off. He did that a lot today. The broken plays are still there. He goes from read to read and then going backyard mode is impressive.

The bad habits are also still there. He still holds onto the ball forever. How our pass rush didn't take advantage...I don't know. The short/intermediate middle are still ignored. When you can contain him, he struggles. What stood out today was his burst and speed is indeed going away quickly. There was one play when the pocket collapsed and Russ tried to escape through the middle. In the past he sneaks through but today he was caught quickly from behind by the LBs. The Hawks struggled to provide a consistent pass rush today and I do wonder how Denver will do once they face all the aggressive AFC teams.

Peoples rhetoric about this game confuses me… full disclosure definitely game did not go how I expected, glad we somehow got the win.

But leading up to the game, all people could talk about is how Wilson “can’t play the short game” and he will make all his mistakes trying to go long, etc. except, that’s exactly what he did. Took what was there, marched the football up and down the field multiple times.

If Geno is on the offense with 2 RB fumbles inside the 10, I’m sorry but Geno is losing that same game.

It’s good to win the “revenge game” of course, but I feel like a lot of people are being quite unrealistic on this RW stuff.

His only td was a horrible throw where the rookie cb made a horrendous play. He couldn't score in the red zone and wasn't Mr clutch when it mattered most.

He should have had 3 ints. 2 went right out of the dbs arms.

I predicted this. He was trash. Not a mvp start

All his yards came from dump offs. Something he never did here though
I agree, complete trash!

29 of 42 for 69% completion rating. 340 yards, 1 td, should've been two if TE drug his foot, 101.3 passer rating. Ya he was pure garbage. 🤣😂

Exactly, you nailed it. Enjoy the win, but enough with the Wilson sucks theme, he is clearly a top tier QB, and showed it again last night. Just stop already... posts like this make us sound like ignorant fans.

I dunno... I liked him prolonging Wilson's agony by forcing him to be on the sideline, in view of the cameras, for more time when he very clearly wanted to get the hell out of there. The look on Wilson's face at that time... PRICELESS! It was after midnight here, and we live in an apartment, so I had to dance around and celebrate (and flip the bird to the turncoat) quietly.
