This draft is killing me.

Just as the experts change their minds almost daily, so does my desire for #5.

2 weeks ago it was certain that 3-4 QB's would be drafted before our pick, now it's uncertain if there will even be 2 QB's.

There are now exactly 3 players in the draft where from start to finish only positive talk and no red flags have come out. Will Anderson Jr, Bryce Young and Bijan Robinson.

What gives me a bit of a headache is that sources are piling up that Seattle will have cap problems with #5, that would be really bad if we had to trade #5 to save cap, none of our players have been restructured.

Has anyone actually heard anything in that regard? Diggs and co are demanding a Bobby but at the same time no one is restructuring his contract for the good of the club.

I'm starting to get the whole draft a QB now because this is probably the best shot you'll have. I mean, how often will we have the opportunity to have a #5 pick?

Still though, gimme D!!!

If the Video doesnt work, they talk about Carter at 2:07:00.
Yesterday PatMcAfee Show, and im 100% the same opinion.
Carter is young he can make mistakes, he lost a friend, come on he is an outstanding Player.
And i also think there is no better team than the seahawks to take that risk when there is an additional firstroundpick at #20.

There is an article in The Athletic that the Seahawks must trade out of #5, because they don’t have the cap space to pay the rookie contract. That seems unbelievable, but the math will be a big problem.
Take the Athletic with a grain of salt, the cap is very fluid and easily massaged. Presently the Hawks are $6.2 million under the cap with the contracts of Nwsou and Lockett being focal points. I am expecting post June 1 salary cap changes.

Seahawks will probably need $15 million to sign draft picks

Carter at 5 is heating up a little. I'll still be surprised but Nagy who is connected seems to think there is a good chance. I honestly think Pete is pushing for it and Schnieder wants to go another direction probably quarterback.

Carter had these issues before he lost his friend though. Smart called him on his conditioning a year ago and here we are.

Staton seems to think the information he's getting points to the second opinion. He actually had a good write up on it. Most likely Pete loves Carter because he sees the potential and thinks he can fix the other stuff ie motivation, being accountable etc. while JS is dead against the pick because making character a point of emphasis has led to drastically better results. I dont fault either for their opinions because its what makes Pete great and John great. I just have zero interest in taking the risk with Carter after what has leaked out.

I also don't understand the win now vs win later debate with Carter vs Richardson. How many DL taken in the top 10 last year were year one difference makers? Most were almost non existent or made little impact.
Pete gets final say

Why? I'm genuinely curious.

If you actually watch & study these QB's, each one has a major flaw or two.

Young is the one guy, who is the most complete. But his size is still a legit concern.

You can make a case for Stroud too. But Levis & Richardson both have legit issues that need to be resolved.

In his latest podcast, Sherm basically said that all of these guys we're overrated. He wasn't a fan of AR & Levis, based on their film. Thought that both guys should go much later in the draft. But teams make the mistake on reaching for a guy.

Everyone gets enamored with how fast AR can run & how high he can jump. But it takes a lot more than that to play QB.

The one guy I've really been impressed with after doing a deep dive, is Hooker. He has all the traits. Leadership, maturity.

Guys I'm willing to draft: Young, Stroud, Hooker (late 1st). I also like Haener on day 3.

That’s the problem. Schneider himself is quoted in the article saying he is very tight on cash. He will figure out something, but this is not a small problem. The numbers are real. Read the article.

If Jalen comes here, I expect it’ll be a year or two of counter reinforcement that no, you can’t frequently disappear. That whatever crisis you got going on, you got to turn it off for game day.

It will be harder for us than any other team given that 5 would have been where he would have gone without the arrest and pro day. The default message is that this is fine.

Wasnt KJ one of our Guys who can help Carter to concentrate on football and help him like a brother?
Not the best answer.
He wants the Seahawks to draft Hooker at 5
