So uh, LTH...want to place a wager on the outcome of this Thursday's game? :)
I absolutely would... but... I've become really, really cheap in my old age... I spend my money on guitar strings and grandkids the rest is irrelevant. Lol

Bet against your own team? Weak sauce
I do it all the time. It's a win-win as far as I'm concerned.

If I bet on us to lose and we win, I'll be so happy that I won't mind losing the $100 or so, and if we lose, I'll have a nice little consolation prize.

And, on my last trip to Vegas, I had a double win-win. I bet on the Commanders but I got 3.5 points, and we ended up winning by 3, so we won but we didn't cover the spread, so I won both the game and the bet.

I haven't given up my friend but I have to tell you if we get smoked this Thursday, my little white flag is going to be raised.
And that's a distinct possibility. The Cowboys are hot, we are not. The game is in their house where they are undefeated so far this season. They are in full playoff mode, chasing the Eagles and with a tough schedule to end the season, with games against the Eagles, Bills, Dolphins, and Lions. They can't afford to lose a game that they should win easily. I don't see them looking past us.

I haven't given up, either, but I'm not investing any emotional capital into this game.

Prove the truth of your words. We don't need to wager dollars, we can wager something else...like dignity. Loser lets the winner decide on a sentence (within reason, and certainly not against forum rules) that stays in their banner/signature area on the forum for one month following the game, for example. I wager that the Seahawks will lose this Thursday. If they do, you would have to put something like: "This is the price I pay to RolandDeschain for my unbridled optimism in the Seahawks that goes against what I've logically been seeing from them lately.", for example. :)

Don't do it!

Nothing wrong with paying a price for one's beliefs. :D

THIS!!!^ ABSOLUTELY !!!!^^THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!^^^
This is EXACTLY what all my stupid postings boil down to....Good Bad or Ugly, You are either ALL IN, or you Ain't.
What kind of sad, naive mindset believes that betting against your team means you're not a proper fan? I'm all about being logical and trying not to succumb to emotional choices regarding my beloved Seahawks. If you're so "all in" and a "proper fan" or whatever the hell you consider yourself to be, why aren't you taking out a mortgage on your home to bet on the Seahawks winning the Super Bowl this year? I'm sure it'll work out, because.....something something.

Really? That's exactly what you HAVE been doing to me in this thread. Don't let hypocrisy stand in the way of spouting off at the mouth, though.

No one has, down deep, a lot of confidence going into the Thursday game. But, the way to approach this is to put yourself into the position of being one of our players. You CANNOT have a negative attitude. And I'm 100% positive each and every one of them perceives they/we have a solid chance to win every game. I suffer that same outlook.
The third quarter of the Niner's game tells me all I need to know in order to believe we've got a shot if our offense can find their way to execute and be effective.
Its not about having a negative attitude but more about the lackadesical attitude. Im not saying they should be crying and pouting after a loss but you would think they would be competitive enough to be pissed losing to rivals in the fashion they do.

The dude is straight-up delusional.
You know what brother I will pass... I would rather take your money than your dignity. I would never do that to you. I'm quite sure you would do that to me...and for that reason I have NOTHING to prove to you.

I will root for my team with the rest of you . How they play whether they win or lose will decide things for me.

Hmm. So kind of you to never do that to me. To go.....back on your own word. Thanks, I.......guess?
