I noticed that as well, and further there are 2 open PS slots.

Adams is a 6-2, 290-pound rookie from Rice who was in camp with the Panthers; Kidsy is in his 3rd year and spent 2018-19 seasons with Washington with one catch for 8 yards. Played at Texas Southern.

The league has announced that the suspension of Josh Gordon is over effective Dec 21 which makes him available for the final two games of the regular season and thereafter. He can be a difference maker if healthy and in shape. He will be motivated to prove he deserves to be in the NFL and hopefully will be able to stay clean of the league’s substances rules.

REALLY excited by the prospects of Gordon's return. If what I've heard about his efforts to rehabilitate over the past year are accurate he will make it this time. That would be a good thing for both of us. If not...he'll need a major Plan B that doesn't include nfl football.

I'm excited as well by the prospect of the many players turning from IR/etc. as the regular season comes to an end.

The team will hopefully have strength at positions where they were weak going into the playoffs last season.

Seahawks transactions today: as per .com

12/05
Elevated T Chad Wheeler from practice squad to active roster. Placed CB Tre Flowers on injured reserve. Played DT Bryan Mone on reserve/COVID-19 list.

Bryan Mone ws on IR, and apparently Cedric Oguighbei has an injury. Tre Flowers, while unpopular here, wss playing well the last 4 games. He will be missed. Hopefully back before the end of the season.

Thanks John, my entry was based upon supposition.

I had wondered about that as after he was elevated the cap dropped sharrply, and he would have had to be brought up to be kept from PS predation. Will revise.

Thanks Kitsap!!!

Curious this interest in QBs, I wonder if there's something up with Smith? Alternatively, perhaps this is COVID playoff depth stacking?

The Seahawks already are keeping practice-squadder Danny Etling away from Russell Wilson and Geno Smith. Perhaps they’re realizing that, to do it right, they still need three quarterbacks for practices and a fourth who is squirreled away.

Coach Pete Carroll recently explained in a visit to SiriusXM NFL Radio that the team has tried to make COVID-19 compliance into a competition.

“We have a COVID competition, you know, spacing competition,” Carroll said. “We keep score. The whole thing. And I think that the tight ends and specialists are in first place right now. And so we’re going to play it out throughout the season and see who wins. . . . There’s a lot to it, mostly it’s attitude though and really the commitment that comes from that.”

He’s right, but it still makes sense to ensure that there will be a quarterback ready to go in case a momentary lapse knocks out several of them. These tryouts suggest that the Seahawks plan to do just that.

Seahawks transaction page says he was signed to the active roster. That's part of the reason they put Flowers on IR. I don't think you can do a 1 game callup and have less than 53 on the regular roster.

At this point at .com they are showing Wheeler on the PS, but the roster there is frequently a few days behind.

I believe they can move two players up and down from the PS every game w/o concern about whether there are 53 men on the active roster. Any player can only go up and down twice before they must be elevated to the 53.

II'll wait a day and see whether the team comments on the transactions page or corrects their roster page.

The transactions page now indicates that Wheeler reverted to the PS Dec 7th as I originally assumed.

Updated.

This means there is an open roster spot on the 53 and with the Kidsy waiver one as well on the PS.

Yeah the Wheeler thing was a little weird because they way they announced it alongside putting Flower on IR made it seem he was on the 53, but I see now he was just a 1 game call up like before. Carry on.
