Bob Condotta is reporting the Hawks have signed DE- Benson Mayowa. Reported terms 1yr./$3 million/plus incentives of up to $1 M.

Today's NFLPA "Public Salary Cap Report" lists the Seahawks cap room at $11,919,646.

Presumably that figure doesn't yet include the announced Benson Mayowa agreement.

It's always fun when cap space begins to tighten up.

What does that mean? "minimum salary benefit"

It sounds like that's the minimum salary that results in certain benefits to the player.... maybe....?

At that salary level, does that mean this FA signing won't count toward comp pick numbers?

Under the new CBA a veteran minimum contract is pegged at $750 K so Dorsett was actually contracted @ salary of $910 K but is charged against the cap at $750 K.

As you read above he also got a $137.5 K signing bonus.

There is $160 K minimum salary cap benefit to the team.

After re-signing CB Neiko Thorpe, the Seahawks have 12 remaining UFAs: DE Jadeveon Clowney, DE Ziggy Ansah, LB Mychal Kendricks, LB Dekoda Watson, CB Akeem King, RB Marshawn Lynch, RB Robert Turbin, RB C.J. Prosise, WR Josh Gordon, WR Jaron Brown, G Mike Iupati, QB Geno Smith.

In Green most likely won't be signed back, Lynch maybe as a guy for a playoff run but not now, He's busy being a bad ass in Westworld.
