Please take care in reporting the UDFA signings as very frequently they are misreported or the player changed his mind and signed elsewhere. While this may prove frustrating it may be best for the team to announce these signings as the media reports are often erroneous in their enthusiasm to get the scoop.

Fieldgulls.com is showing 16 players signed as UDFAs but the team only has 12 available spots. This is good example of the problem.

Makes sense that they’d bring in extra to get a look and keep the ones they like best when they are ready to sign draft picks.
Fieldgulls is now at 17 UDFA signings. Will be interesting to see how many of those are legit. Regardless, seems like there will be cuts in the next week or 2.

If there are 17 real signings 5 others from the team will need to be cut. so something is wrong.

Thanks for the link though. I 've found it's best to sit for the team to post the actual list of UDFAs signed to get it right.

Remembering that all of the 11 draft choices have yet to sign a contract and assuming that all of the announced UDFAs contract signings are accurate, there are currently 85 signed to the roster as of this message. So, there is room for 5 additional signings before cuts become necessary.

Which gives them a chance to look at what they have and make decisions to keep the best fits and it also gives us a leg up on knowing if the extra guys are worth nabbing off practice squads or off the street later if necessary. I like it

Can we send them to Area 51 in Cheney for some exercise in case they are called up to the practice squad? LOL

Thanks Jville!!! Adding 17 players to the roster but then removing them when the names are wrong is extra work I'd prefer to avoid.

Jville thanks my friend, I suspect you are right, on the draft picks being unsigned thus allowing for more UDFA players to be "considered signed", but only for a look see until they are waived or released.

I'm going to wait until the team announces those UDFAs they plan on signing and keeping although I'd probably add the names when the team says these are the signings they will make. I might treat then all as tentative signings on the OP.

Un-signed draft picks count towards the 90-man roster. It's been that way for several years.

Makes a lot of sense. And, it's how you have traditionally handled it. Heck, they could release a player or two coming out of their second week with the rookies. IIRC, that's happen in the past.

Let the roster churn continue!

Thanks for your dedication to the forum and specifically to this thread.
