I was hoping to watch the Kraken's first ever home game in new Climate Pledge Arena and was surprised to see it's only being broadcast on ESPN+ and Hulu? WTF??

ESPN+ had the rights to that game. Which is lame AF.
I caught the 3rd period on a “feed”.

PM if you want the address for future use.

My cable package includes the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) channel that aired the entire game albeit with Canadian commentators. They were respectful of Seattle, showed nice live aerials of the city, provided historical background, and talked about how the arena came to be and how nice it is, so I've no complaints. Oh, and most important, coverage of the game was good, though they've obviously been doing it for decades up there. Was struck at how comparatively lame their TV commercials are, though.

Heading to the game tomorrow night. So effin stoked. A nice Hawks/Kraken double tip Monday and Tuesday.
Did anyone else go to the game on Saturday? Just curious. Looking forward to checking out the new arena too.
I'm very new to the sport, so still learning all the rules. But, I LOVE the pace of NHL Hockey.

Tanev is on fire, my favorite player. That goal was so good.

Grubauer is also on fire after a tough 1st game.

Tanev with another 2 goal game. Keep it up tonight Kraken!

Yes, and Yanni Gourde just taught a class on how to make the goalie commit before finding the net on his goal.
Well played game tonight from the fellas. Looked like a veteran team tonight.
Maybe they are jelling as a unit, or maybe they just beat up on a crappy team. 2 points is 2 points though.

Feels like I'm watching a re-run of what I watched a day ago. Most of the Kraken players appear mentally shot, and granted, it's been a long road trip where I'm sure the opportunity to get well-rested isn't the same as it would be in a normal schedule. They look like they're just sleepwalking out there.
Yanni Gourde looked good for his first game this year.

Defense is still sloppy AF though.
Getting tired of the dump and race to the puck business.

Passing needs to improve.

It will get there, just may take some time though.

They did much better at not doing this in yesterday's game.

Holy shit what a game Kraken. Carrying a 1 goal lead down inside 2 minutes had my heart racing against the Wild. Then the 2 empty netters to seal it. Great game.

They are an exciting team, especially at home.
All I ask as a new Kraken/NHL fan is to be fun to watch and play hard, the wins are icing on the cake.

Nice! :2thumbs:
That place had to be awesome to be at tonight.
Hoping to make it to a game sometime this season.

So I have an idea of what it means when the announcer says "blocked with purpose" is it the goalie blocks the puck but puts it in play for the trailing team mate? IDK

Nah I'm to poor to be wasting a good hat.

Didn't expect the Kraken to be great this year, but it's really frustrating watching them give up clutch goals to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory every game.

Defense and goaltending have been worse than expected this year so far IMHO.
Lack of pucks in the net was kind of expected.

Still a new young team though.
