Should we see what the Bears want for Fields?

Unfortunately, we gave up our second rounder for Williams and that hasn’t worked out. Rumor is it might only take a second rounder to get him. I live by Madison, so I see the Bears play quite a bit. His accuracy is inconsistent. He has one more year on his rookie contract but I don’t think I’d make a trade without him signing an extension. I’d still want them to draft a QB if he won’t sign an extension. Thoughts?

I like half-a-dozen options in the draft, so no. And Fields still has games where he looks completely lost out there.

Another 1-year rental, where he will command 35mill + per season?

As always, it depends on the value.

Fields looks like he'll become a lesser Lamar Jackson. I wouldn't want to watch that offense, but he might be worth investigating at the right price.

I'm not convinced he'd beat Lock in a head-to-head battle for the #2 role. I wouldn't swap low picks for him.

I think the Lenard Williams trade has worked out very well. Spot on addition. Two thumbs up!

Fields has had three years to work things out in the NFL as a full time starter. He is not a bad QB by any means, but is he better than what we have? Probably not. It'll be better just to get a guy in a fairly deep QB draft.
