All week long the media has been asking tough questions “You guys are 0-3 in the playoffs together, whats different this year?”. Matt Ryan and the coaching staff has all the pressure on them. They have been given the label of chokers. They have been blown out three years in a row in the playoffs. The media has been reminding the Falcons the last two weeks. The fact that they had the best record in the NFL in the regular season further adds to the pressure.
On the other hand, the Seahawks roll into town with little to no pressure. Win or lose, this season has already been a success. We found our QB of the future and present. We have a young and established core. We have one of the youngest teams in the league. We finished 11-5 despite having one of the toughest schedules in pro football. We showed we could win on the road and at home.
All the pressure is on the Atlanta Falcons. They know they can’t lose this game, not after finishing the season as the number one seed. Not after getting blown out their past three playoff games. Not after Matt Ryan has the nick name of “Matty Ice” yet has not shown up on the big stage, in the playoffs.
I pray to the football gods that we get an early lead in the game on Sunday. If we do, we just might see the Falcons pressing the panic button and reliving a déjà vu moment.
