Getting Chicago involved got Bennett another $2M on the package vs the supposed $32M total originally thought to be the Seahawks original deal.

16 million guaranteed sounds right, and that 2nd guy is technically wrong, it's 8.5 exactly not over

Really happy about this and from what I have heard/read, it sounds like the other most likely place (where his brother also plays) offered more money.

So Michael....isn't that pretty much what a hometown discount is? It may not have been a big difference, but it was reported that they offered more money.

Well... They were going to pay SOMEONE to do that job, might as well be a guy that is happy to be here and one they can trust. I love Bennett, but was ready to see him walk and most positive that he would at some 10 million a year. Guy is such an animal. Makes so many things happen that he and Cliff are like Flotsom and Jetsom of opposing offenses. nice to keep that duo together. Many of the fumbles and big defensive plays the Hawks had resulted from those two.

I am really glad he is still here!

What would be significant? $8-10M guaranteed vs $16M? Oh well, do not care. Just musing over how this guy can claim to know what the original Seahawks parameters were. Unless Rosenhaus floated this just to let people know how great he is?

But it's okay I think this is a perfectly fair deal considering his production. I speculated because of his interviews he would hold for 10 but I'm happy to eat crow on that. Definitely worth it.
