Ref looks so serious, Carroll's life is flashing before his eyes.

What was the penalty flag on the play? Was it on Carroll? I stepped away for a few minutes and missed this play live.
On the replays, you can see the flag thrown, but I haven't seen what the flag was, but clearly the TD stood.

Yep. Sure was. 15-yard unsportsman-like conduct on the coach. Started celebrating that touchdown way, way too early. Bahahahaha! The chagrined look on his face afterward was priceless, too!

Thanks! Truly a priceless moment, the essence of Pete Carroll.

P.S. Sailor, sig says you're located in a state of disrepair and chaos? Sounds like my relationship with boats!! So you're at sea, trying to keep the thing going with chewing gum and baling twine, lol? Kinda like the Seahawks OL & DB's at the moment.

Two things.

I thought head coaches were allowed in the white painted area on the sidelines?

How did Pete not break a leg, he's 63 years old?

He can be in the white, but he cant impede the official. Theres usually an assistant or intern assigned to watch PC (and many coaches in the league) to make sure they move out of the way when an official is barreling down. Fire that man.

:D That's a great picture. I love how you can see ADB's excitement as well. Great moment for Tyler.

They're only supposed to go up to the edge of the white. Pete did try to bail at the last second, but those big old clodhopper grandpa Nikes were too heavy to move quickly. It looks like he tried to jump back off his right foot and it just slipped.

Good thing it was just a preseason game or he might have been fined or something heh. But these games are practice for everyone including the coaches and officials. lesson learned.

I loved how he mentioned Tyler's "83 yard" run back and then said he didn't see the last 20 yards. Also joked that the ref didn't apologize.
