I listen to Cowherd quite a bit. He used to work in Vegas. Cowherd openly talks about how he is friends with the guys who run the large Vegas sportsbooks. He's had some of them on the his show in the past, and Cowherd knows the spreads and how betting works quite well. He has his "Hot 5 NFL picks" picks every week specifically for the betters.

The Pats are slight favorites among most of the betting public. Vegas would make a huge killing if even more people placed their wagers on the Patriots to cover/win, (I think the Vegas insiders really believe the Hawks will win).

I suspect Cowherd is doing his Vegas buddies a favor, by going on the air telling everyone the Pats are gonna win easily (when there is no statistical evidence to support it).

In short, the public at large is typically wrong when betting big games...Why? Because of national sports pundits like Cowherd misleading them.

He was "working the sportalk radio" scene in Portland, then somehow got moved up to the HEAD Sportannouncer on one of the TV stations, funny thing was, he gave up ALL of his History as growing up in the WestPort/Aberdeen area when he was a kid (his old man was my eye DR), and being a DAWG fan. He moves from Radio to TV and all of a sudden he hated the Dawgs and bemoaned the fact that "we" (the Portland market) HAD to watch the DAWGS and the Seahawks (as the local station game of choice). Several of the "big boys" at UO got him with Uncle Phil and all of a sudden there was a new horse in town- no more DAWGS and NO MORE Seahawks on the local channel game of choice.

Once Uncle Phil got the Cowturd into the back rooms providing him what he really needed (ACCESS), he was groomed by U of Nike and OFF he went to ESPN

There has never, I repeat NEVER been a bigger sellout/schill in our region. Gutless P:OS

I enjoyed his radio work, way back when, then he went to school with Uncle Phil and thats all she wrote.

I shit you not

M.M.

Seattle simply doesn't get blown out. It just never happens.

It is so rare that a 16 point lead by Green Bay was being touted as a blow out......even though they lost.

Dallas fans still claim that they won in a blowout.

Similar to a receiver getting 50 yards on Sherman as the equivalent of exposing him.

People search for something, anything to diminish this legendary defense. The smallest of victories is a major achievement and completely blown out of proportion.

These experts watched the last two games and are putting too much stock in them.

More fuel for our team's fire.

To add to this, Bill Simmons, an absolute Patriot homer said this too. He said prior to the conference championship games, the Hawks would have been a minimum 3 point favorite, but thoes 2 results have skewed the line and made it inaccurate.

I find this very unlikely.

New England has never won a Super Bowl by more than three points.

Seattle has never lost by double digits with Russell Wilson as QB. In fact, they have not lost by double digits since Nov. 6, 2011 -- 63 consecutive games and counting. That was right around the time their defense began to click.

People seem to be favoring New England solely because of what they think happened in the conference championships. They don't think the Seahawks are deserving because they turned the ball over five times and needed The Comeback. And they don't realize what an incomplete team the Colts were this season.

To add to this, I want to say NE scored 17 points in both of their last Superbowls, against defenses much worse than ours and with much higher rated offenses. It doesn't mean all that much because it's about individual matchups, but people keep seeming to think that the Pats are this offensive juggernaut and they score 17 in SB's.

Scoring 17 is going to make it hard to blow anyone out. I think they score 1 TD and 3 FGs for a total of 16.

How many times has a team with the least points and yards allowed in a season gone into a super bowl and got blown out?
It happened just last year. Don't you remember? The best offense in NFL history really took it to the team with the least points and yards allowed and really embarrassed them.

Oh wait...

Not sure why anybody is surprised. They really, really want to see Brady get #4 and this is the best NE team since '07.

All of these ridiculous predictions will only serve to make SEA look that much more dominant when the dust settles and we've won.

Just soak it in. Something to remember in the week running up to super bowl 50 if we find ourselves there looking to 3-pete.
"if"?
