Because they are largely devoid of serviceable just-above-average players that a good team needs a healthy number of to make noise in the playoffs. They have a handful of top-tier players, and a truckload of below-average players.

Also the way Geno & Co. looked sooo good in some games, but then kinda crappy in others.

The best one for me. Seeing others describe this team as "mediocre" for several years when they were one of the best in the league was interesting. What we're seeing this year is a mediocre NFL team. They get your hopes up by doing stuff making you think they're maybe pretty good then they crush your heart.

Lol, thanks. I also wanted to use 'pedestrian', but I had to honor the one word goal, all while staying within the Seahawks lexicon.
