Bobby Engram should also be in the conversation.

Not for No. 2 in team history. He was reliable (despite dropping the winning TD against the Rams in the playoffs that one year), but he had just one season with more than 800 yards and never had more than six TDs. Yeah, stats aren't everything, but this was 2001-2008, the numbers at least mean something. He even had a lower catch percentage than Baldwin. I just can't see putting him ahead of Baldwin, Blades, or Darrell Jackson. Engram is more like borderline top 5 IMO.

Yeah, I could probably go with Bobby E in the top 10. Not top 2.

I still don't think there's an obvious choice after Largent. Doug's catch rate was amazing but you have to factor the QB into any receiver statistic. For example, Engram had more yards and a 70% catch rate at age 34 during Hasselbeck's amazing 2007 season.

PFR's Approximate Value score seems pretty reasonable.

Steve Largent 140
--- gap the size of Mount Rainier ---
Brian Blades 71
Doug Baldwin 62
Darrell Jackson 61
--- gap ---
Joey Galloway 48 (diva)
Bobby Engram 45
Ricky Waters 41
Sam McCullum 35
Koren Robinson 32
Tyler Lockett 31 (so far)
--- gap ---
Golden Tate 22
Mike Pritchard 21
Jermaine Kearse 21
Paul Skansi 20
Sean Dawkins 16
Sidney Rice 15

Where the heck are TJ and Percy on this list ? You call yourselves fans?

Although I agree one could add arguably in front of Doug as number 2, I think he wins the argument most of the time. He does in my book at least. He had the tangibles and intangibles and as wicked a first step as I’ve seen. He’s off the charts intelligent as well (empirically).

Doug Baldwin rightfully belongs in this select group of the greatest undrafted WR's ever, in no particular order.

Wes Welker
Drew Pearson
Rod Smith
Wayne Chrebet
Victor Cruz
Miles Austin

And is a nice addition to the Seahawks best undrafteds.

Dave Krieg
Mack Strong
Eugene Robinson
Rufus Porter
Jim Zorn
Joe Nash
Norm Johnson
Jon Kitna
Bryan Millard

In short, that's a whole lotta' tough 1st downs to replace. Thanks for giving everything you had Doug.

Great point and post.

You have to add Michael Bennett on that list as well. (UDFA).

2 more TDs and ADB is at 38, and takes second all time behind Largent's 100.

Wow... #2 on list is 62 behind #80?
My thought as well but Steve was that good..

Sad day to hear the news yesterday. I have to admit I shed a few tears.

Doug definitely is the 2nd best Hawk WR ever.

Largent also played for 14 years, nearly twice as long as ADB. 200 games.

True but Steve is totally on another level it's not even close and not a fair comp in any way.

Well, sure, but Doug was on a pace to catch him as far as TDs goes, or at least come close. Doug is definitely #2 all-time IMO.

Agreed and for everything he has meant to this team it is hard to imagine him not being #2 behind HOF Steve Largent.

I wish Joe Jurevicius played his entire career with us. Also, ADB you the man.

It’s so funny in that I can hardly remember Galloway even though he was the first player, and one of two players, I’ve met and got an autograph from. Springs being the other.

I hardly remember Darrell Jackson.

However, just like a few posters here, Joe Jurevicious’ only season as Seahawk, is a chrishable one that will likely stay with me. One that, as well, left me wanting more.

ADB made the Russell Wilson scramble drill the most dangerous play in football. Lockett will have to fill that roll now and at least until some of the young guys can develop a trust and intuition with our QB.

As it stands now I would go with Largent #1, Baldwin #2, and DK Metcalf at #3. I'd then probably put Galloway in at #4 and Darrell Jackson would round out my top 5.

Well, that's an interesting prophecy to make before DK has even caught a pass. Potential is only that until he does something on the field. (which I think he will, barring injury, and look forward to it). Right now, however, Chris Durham has a better Seahawk resume than Mecalf.

Where do you put Blades?

I feel DK will actually finish #1 on the list but had I posted that Im sure Id get in trouble. Did the same with Wilson the day he was drafted and received a vacation. Turns out I was totally right with Russ. ;)
