So I was listening to the postgame presser and Pete kept talking about how impressive Russ was with being able to make huge plays from nothing. He was specifically mentioning when Russ looked as if he was contained, Pete was saying to himself "just get down Russel" when all of a sudden he would do his scrambling act and boom big play happens. He says it happened time and time again during the game. Pete appeared to be very surprised by some of them.
It would seem Pete may have finally somewhat unleashed Russel. What ya say.

I say, after the home game shit-fest game with the NO Saints, that THIS game was going to be against a Hardened NFC West Rival, and that Pete pretty much HAD NO CHOICE but to let loose of the reins on Wilson, and it worked in his favor Big Time.
Hopefully, we'll be seeing a lot more of an unfettered Russell Wilson working his magic from here on out.

At 14:04 Pete says in the post-game press conference that "He [Russ] has as much freedom as he's ever had, because he's the best he's ever been".

LOL. Pete speaking of offensive freedom is the equivalent of a penguin considering a vacation in Australia.

That said I do see progress though! :2thumbs:

We ran the ball twice as much as we through it yesterday, thats always going to be Pete's game plan. Run the ball and take shots, it's the same gameplan they always have had they just executed it yesterday.

Not in the way most people have been clamoring for. Russell is still running Schotty's run heavy system with Pete's overall philosophy.

They'll pretend like they were right and say that Pete has finally unleashed Russell, but the reality is Schotty is actually a good offensive coordinator and his presence has contributed to Russell going from an elite QB to an MVP caliber QB. He threw the ball 23 times last night.

Pete took the leash off of Russ in 2012, if anyone's bothered to notice...

Seams like this year he actually has easy passes in the offense that don't take 8 seconds to develop. So maybe the leash is off.

Don’t think Russ has been on much of a leash in ages. Underutilized maybe but not on a leash.

I think we’ve got real good balance going this season and kudos to Schotty for incorporating the quick passing game. Now we have the total package on O. Run game, short passing, deep balls.

Well... We're integrating more quick hitters, and it seems like we're passing more in the beginning of the games now and using it to set up the run. Sort of like what Holmgren used to do.

Russ is really getting the ball out of his hands quick. Comes with experience.

Experience plays a part but so does coaching and offensive scheme. Another thing that should be mentioned is that his pocket presence and internal clock has gotten a lot better this season as well. He's playing a much more measured, and controlled game. We're also implementing more short routes which really only used sporadically throughout Pete's whole tenure. He even said he doesn't like short routes much.

^^^^^^This is exactly right^^^^^
Without Marshawn Lynch pounding defenses into submission, and the Run Game having lost it's identity, + Wilson getting sacked on every 4th play, Pete had no alternative, so at about game seven, Russell Wilson PROVED that he was quite capable of putting the team on his back, and started slinging the ball with the BEST of them...He and Baldwin were kicking asses & taking names.

You're kidding yourself if you think PC has been holding RW back until last night. Think about it for just a second, and without the green and blue RW slobber stained glasses.

No coach is going to hold there QB back. Seems to me play from the Hawks has been pretty consistent.
