An interesting no-holding-back quote from Kam today:

"It (the contract) just allows me to just be free out there and get back to being the reckless Kam I am out there on the field.’’

Nice!

The easy part..."jawboning" is now out of the way. Let's see what happens on the field August 13th at the Chargers.
I hope that he gets to play the 1st half.

Hmmm wonder what Wilson is thinking ?

So how do I make this work with no Line?

Well I do have a second option to fall back on, Ballet.

Seattle 04

Or I will just wear this and scare them all

Kam is a beast, we see the money escalations and think they are not worth it, then look around and go wow another team is going to pay that player that much. Kam has earned his place and I know John and Pete and the Cap guys have a plan, I just hope we don't fall in the boat of one year to much on some of our guys.

3 years, $36 million. $25 million guaranteed

Thoughts to locking up The Enforcer for 3 more years?

Kam is Bam Bam, or Kamtrak. Kenny Easley was The Enforcer.

And Ken Hamlin was the Hammer!

Big hitters in the secondary is a proud Seattle tradition.

Ken Hamlin also happened to be "The Nail" in his pioneer square fight.

Lets look at this from a different point of view. I love what Kam has done for Seattle but Kam is at the end of his career and his skills are not the same as they used to be, he probably has three years left. 25 guaranteed seems like alot but I guess if it keeps the cohesion on the team. Sadly the idea that Sherman, Earl and Kam can play for 25 years like Russell talks about is very unlikely. The game has changed.

I "kinda" agree.

Some players add more than their on field skills.
Intangibles for some, are a HUGE value. In Kam's case, he gets a pass from me, even if he loses a couple of steps. It's my opinion that he brings much more to the table than his "on field" skill set.
At this point I think we need Kam as much as anybody. I won't change my mind until somebody else shows up that can fill the role he plays. Kam is a rare breed and I don't see that happening any time soon.

Edit:
Aside from that, I'd sure hate for our guys to have to play against him if he were to go to another team.
That alone has to be worth a couple million:{)

Lot of great points on here. One of the things that still seems evident as well is that the front office is staying loyal to its players who continue to be productive to team standards by rewarding them with money the player deserves.

Not only does it not seem to be to much of a drop off with Kam's play, over the past few years if Kam or Earl are not on the field together there has been a significant decline on the defense. Not sure how long that curve will last for but still seems like a good thing that Kam is locked as a Seahawk.

Interesting comments about loyalty in this thread. Santa is real too....

The contract is about Kam Chancellor's play, leadership, and extension of coaching and adjustments he calls on the field.

I'm south, holmes. We got a smokey haze like we live in LA, but at least it doesn't stink and taste like LA.

Yeah, but even then it still doesn't stank so bad you can taste it. It's like breathing hot garbage that's been pissed on. I'm told it's not like that in LA every day, but it's been that way every time I've been down there.

Kam Contract being reported by EvanHB and David Hsu

There saying we could be out of contract by 2018 but even 2019 would be good but 2020 prolly wont be here.

Lots of per game roster bonuses.
