I took my girls and our good friends girls to the parade today. We got to Bell and 4th at about 9. The parade came by at about noon. It was a kind of tough on the little ones but when we saw Lynch on the hood of that Duck....that was awesome. I was glad the girls could experience some history of Seattle. I think they will always remember the day they got to skip school to see the parade.

and as far as the drum we were talkin it about it on FB and some one chimed in with:
"I am proud to say that drum was given to him by a Lummi tribal member from here in Whatcom County. Native Pride...GO HAWKS!!"

so thats pretty cool and after seeing how polite and respectful of the culture he was in that japanese candy interview i can totally see him accepting that gift and just rockin it all thru the parade and into the stadium and on national tv!

and i love how you can see him smiling so big through his face mask in this pic

What a great story! I've made one of these drums and it's a very reverent and personal experience. Also, as a drummer knowing how attached we get to our drums, especially hand drums... this was a really heartfelt and meaningful gift. And an eagle-feathered stick?? That's big time.

I saw Marshawn motioning to the crowd and wondered what that was about. And later saw the drum.

Thanks for the story.

Nice :th2thumbs:

Marshawn is definitely his own man. No better example than him walking out of the tunnel at the clink with a drum in one hand and a bottle of Dom in the other.
