All is good.
We had breakfast at the market this AM and then we took a drive up north. Took the ferry over to Whidbey Island, drove to Oak Harbor and had a great lunch at a place called Seabolts SmokeHouse, food was great.
Drove across Deception pass and then up to Anacortes, then back to the city.

Clipper Cruise tomorrow.

Stay away from the Duck Boat.

BTW, for any of you posters going to the game, I'll be in attendance Monday night, and plan on hitting a few bars before the game. If you see some old man wearing a white Seahawks baseball cap, bill forward, with a #12 home jersey with "River Dog" emblazoned across the back, come introduce yourself and I'll buy you a beverage of your choice.

Update: we got a great nights sleep last night, up at 5:30 to make the Clipper cruise.
Just got boarded. Rhonda did everything on line and we got to board #22. We have great seats.
Rhonda absolutely loves these trips to Friday Harbor. Friday Harbor is having their Fall Festival this weekend. Parade, chili cook off, etc. today.
I'm looking forward to a Black Walnut ice cream cone. There is a little shop that makes it in house.

Update:
We had a slight scare last nite.
Rhonda seemed to have had a minor cardiac event in the airport while we were waiting on our luggage.
She is fine at this point. NO WORRIES. She has history of intermittent A-fib with irregular rate, she takes meds that control it, but her heart rate and blood pressure dropped real low and she had a near syncope episode. I was able to lay her down and elevate her feet and she responded well. Was a scare but all is well now. We were able to grab a burger at Jimmies on 1st before checking into the hotel.
In spite of being late (after 10) the food and service was very good. I can't imagine that place on gameday, must be packed.
Ya, waiting for luggage at Seatac is a bitch! LOL...

But seriously, I'm glad to hear she's ok. I hope you have a great trip that includes a fun Seahawks WIN!

Thanks for sharing your experience with all of us. It is always cool to here what everyone likes about their trip up here in the great northwest. Happy to hear that the wife is OK and that you're enjoying yourselves. :thirishdrinkers:

If you've never been, there is a place just of the ferry called The Blue Water grill.
The Cod and chips is great. I had a Vicious Circle Amber with my fish. The crab cakes are about average but the atmosphere added a +1.

Looks awesome. However, today in Magnolia Texas is the best weather I have experienced in my 3 months here....83, no humidity and a light north breeze.

Just trying to justify my jealousy.

We went to Friday Harbor back in the day when My Uncle was living over in that area. So many years ago, I think I started driving about 10 years later. Some day I shall have to make the trip back. All I recall is the ferry ride with the old Chrysler. That would make it about 45 or so years ago.

Wow, what a nice day! Great pics! Good choice to get out on the water on a day like that.

Sunday update:
Slept in a bit and had a quick breakfast at Pikes Place Market.
Headed down to the Proshop where I quickly got a ticket, long story but there was a dude waving people into an area for parking, my stupid self took the bait and unknowingly made an illegal left turn. Cop sitting there watching immediately pulled in behind me, ran my license and wrote me a $136.00 ticket. I made a u-turn as directed by the cop, and left the area. As we were leaving I watched the same parking guy wave more people in, yep the cop got them too.

We headed to Mt. Rainier for the day. Skipped the stuff we had seen before and stopped at the stuff we hadn't.
The weather was awesome and the Mt. was in full view from all angles.
We got back to the city and had a nice dinner at Chandler's Crab House.
Hitting the hay early for the big day tomorrow.
We got to see the last 1/4 and finish of the Dallas game. Was well pleased to see the boys lose.
Happy to hear that the Cards suffered a similar fate.
We will be heading to the Stadium earlier than normal because of our "field passes" but will be kicking around the area fairly early. Hit me up here if you are going to be around early as well. I'd love to see as many as possible. I'm guessing we will hit up Temple after the game, for a night cap.

We got to see a small herd of Elk.
This impressive 6x6 was standing guard over them.
Was crazy that we were able to get so close, or that we got so close. Not sure :{)

There were 5 cows, a couple calfs and 1 spike that we could see, possibly more in the near by timber.

Awesome pictures! Makes me think I should move away from the Northwest so I might get motivated enough to go on vacation and see some of it. While you toured the beautiful sites I sat in my recliner all day touring the country via the Sunday ticket! I do get to go on a boat ride tomorrow......the Bremerton ferry to the game!

I'm particularly proud of that reflection picture. They were all from my phone.
Hey Rob, I have heard that the "snow Pack" was low last year.
Most if not all of the pictures that I've posted are of the the southern exposure of the Mt. The north side was significantly more covered. Having said that I have no idea how much the permanent snow/ice has receded
