Meanwhile roger continues to literally choke the life out of the NFL.

I really hope they do something about him. Leave the game alone, Rog.

18 game season - no
expanded playoffs - no
removing extra points - no
changing playoff seeding - no

no no no

no.

NO.

If couldn't agree more with you on all of that.

Leave the NFL alone! Wait, move the kickoffs back and then leave it alone.

The only way playoff expansion is appropriate is if they get to 36 teams. Then, 14 team playoff is right.

But nothing for Papaki mocking Cam, eh? Cool.

The league needs to make an effort to apply the same standards to everyone. Double standards are doing nothing toward salvaging the integrity of the NFL.

The silence on the Lane incidence is deafening.

Id like to fine Goodell $20 million (his ridiculous annual salary) for destroying the NFL.

yes it's all him, ridiculous. I'm pretty sure the "competition committee" is the one changing the game. This committee has Coaches and GM on it and they are the one's voting for new rules changes. NOT ROGER. Yet people just like to have a whipping boy.

Uhhhhh objectively doing a superman celebration is way less offensive than a choke sign. C'mon guys be fair in your assessment. Sherm deserved it this time

Not surprised at all. The chocking signal is the type of offense that gets this type of fine regularly.

I also believe Sherman already knew he'd get fined when he did it and it's probably worth every penny to him

Yeah not surprised by this fine. Choking gestures will get you that fine everytime.

Me either, but if you asked any NFL player not a QB, if he could pay 7875 bucks for this kind of press....they'd mostly do it.

I'm not saying Sherm didn't deserve the flag and subsequent fine. However, if you saw my post on the other page, I quote the NFL rules on taunting, and Papaki mocking Cam pretty clearly falls into that category. Taunting's taunting; flag it or don't.

so officials are expected to know everyone's td celebration? while they're both taunting, they're also both different.

The fines are donated to charity so does it count as a deduction against the taxes for Sherman?

Then we are talking some $5k or less

It's a double standard.

Also ....... fining a non contact incident while ignoring a contact incident tarnishes the credibility of addressing player safety as a priority.

Don't forget expanding to EUROPE....As an older NFL fan and a traditionalist by nature, I can't stand the guy and what he and the owners have done and are continually trying to do with the best league in the world.

True. This fine was expected and IIRC, Sidney Rice got one for the throat slash he did 2 years ago.

Any word on the out of bounds interference with Lane?

The 5 o'clock news just said Carroll called a few days ago but the NFL hadn't finalized its investigation yet.

This is literally the smallest fine Roger could give. He has to keep face with the public but deep down it was HUGE for the NFL.
