Rapoport says fined, but not suspended.

https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl-seahawks-d ... rce%20said.

DK's proven that he's an incredible athlete and can be a top WR in this league because of his competitiveness and work ethic.

But his tantrums and antics would cause me serious pause for handing over 20M a year when it's time to negotiate his extension this next off season or the 2022 season.

Especially if Pete's still here severely limiting DK's targets.

They absolutely can get two 1st rounders for him. And, not have to shell out 20 mil for a guy who clearly has some legit issues with anger on the field and/or not actually owning up to his childish penalties.

DK is gonna want a big extension this offseason. I'd trade him. Young pro-bowl quality player at a premier position with strong production in a run-first offense and elite physical tools, no health issues and a year left on his rookie deal should net a couple of #1 picks minimum.

Talent is there, work ethic is there, competitive fire is there. Hands are poor. Poise and situational awareness are missing. Team-first mentality is missing. Humility is missing. He's going to want a top-five receiver contract and he's proving to be too much of a risk and this offense needs to rebuild.

If PC is going to continue being the HC of this team, paying a person like DK (and Russ) is a bad investment. PC wants to be the 2012-2014 Hawks (and the current Titans). DK and the salary he will demand/deserve doesn't fit. It's sad cus DK will go to another team and will tear it up.

Carroll’s recipe for winning is playing excellent defense and running the ball effectively.

Here’s the kicker, he cannot draft well anymore!

Pretty much no point in trying to resurrect his former great defense cause he cannot draft well anyways.

Which is why instead of drafting young talented cheap players, he trades the farm for overpaid ineffective players that can’t fit his defensive system!

Vicious cycle!

Agreed. I'm looking to the future and it doesn't look bright.

I'd trade DK for undrafted 2011 Doug Baldwin in a heartbeat.

Just remember, Buffalo traded Lynch away because he was a 'headcase and problem child' too.

Think they wish they figured out a way to make it work with him?

Also, WRs are constantly chirping and instigating on & off the field. Nothing about this is new.

DK might to higher levels but then again, he produces as a deep threat when we bother to use him that way.

You are ignoring a couple of key factors:

1) The $25M APY D.K. is going to want in order to stay. The Seahawks paid Lynch $3M combined for his first and second seasons with the team.

2) The massive haul we'd get in a trade while he still has a year on his contract. We got Lynch for a 4th and a 6th. We'd probably get two #1 picks minimum for D.K.

Are we worried about not having the money to pay DK? We want Lockett to go back to getting #1 cbs again because hes not even getting great production as our #2 whats it going to be like without DK. He should be shredding defenses right now.

What do we need all this money for. This team clearly cant spend in FA.

Posted this in another thread but will add it here as well:

After this year:

- Starting Left Tackle (D. Brown) is a free agent (and very old, injured, and deteriorating quickly)
- Starting Right Tackle (B. Shell) is a free agent (and mediocre)
- Backup Left Tackle/Right Tackle (J. Jones) is a free agent (and mediocre to poor)
- Starting Center (E. Pocic) is a free agent (and mediocre to poor)
- Backup Center (K. Fuller) is a restricted free agent (and poor)

- Starting RB (C Carson) is injured and could be a cap casualty
- Backup RB (A. Collins) is a free agent
- Third string RB (R. Penny) is a free agent and always injured

- Starting TE (G. Everett) is a free agent
- Backup TE (W. Dissly) is a free agent

And that's just the offense.

The defense is much more promising in terms of young talent, but these guys are all unrestricted free agents:
- Quandre Diggs (must re-sign IMO)
- DJ Reed (must re-sign IMO)
- Rasheem Green (must re-sign IMO)
- Al Woods
- Robert Nkemdiche
- Sydney Jones

Not to mention D.K., Bobby, Poona, Dunlap, will be going into the final years of their contracts (Bobby will be 33 and Dunlap 35).

That's a lot of guys at key positions who need to be re-signed or replaced. Where's the cap room going to come from? What about the draft picks?

Time to start thinking about trading some expensive assets for picks - I'm talking guys like D.K. and Bobby, if not Russ.
