We just went to back to back superbowls with a game manager, so call him what you want, but all he does is win (except this year).

To be fair all he does is win, when the defense allows under 25 points. Wilson is 0-12 when the opposing offense scores 25 or more.

Brett Favre and Matt Hasselbeck ran the EXACT same offense.

It's how you use your offense that makes the difference.

Wow that is a scary stat if true.

What a title!

Is it meant as an insult? I'd say having a glorified game manager would be an improvement for most teams.

You should have added the word "short".

Yeah even if that stat is true, he is leading the league with most comeback wins since he entered the league.

Team is built to have games close, Wilson has brought them back multiple times this year with the 6 losses...The defense just isn't stopping teams in the 4th, lots of the blame goes to the offense but still should be no excuse for the best defense in the NFL.

At least now Russ knows that a huge portion of the fan base has no belief in him. Even though he has "managed" to win a ton of games and a Super Bowl. Oh wait, they only win because of the running game and defense :?

He's having an off season, partially from that brutal O Line, it happens. Good quarterbacks DO have off seasons.

If it is indeed true that Wilson really wanted to be the highest paid QB, then his greed and hubris has caught up to him. He has a lot of work to do

Good thing he's only the 19th highest paid QB in the NFL. That's even after his new contract, so yeah....his greed is destroying this team.
you are looking at cap hit for 2015....in average salary he is # 2 in the NFL.

He isn't worth top 10 money at this point.

This is a good point.

Brady, Manning is his prime, Brees, Rivers, these guys make their receivers better. Brady has rarely had dominant WRs, and if you take those WRs away from the QB, they're average on other teams.

A lot of fans here defend Wilson, saying he has garbage WRs. I'm willing to bet Baldwin and Lockett put up All Pro numbers with Brady throwing to them (among others). Wilson doesn't even look at Lockett. The only WR I've seen Wilson connect with right away was Baldwin, everyone else needs to be working with him for at least a year before they see targets in year 2.

When you pay a guy 20 million a year, he better be able to create offense on his own, not have it tailor made for him.

He's off, it doesn't help that his O-Line and half his receivers are garbage.

Randy Moss coincides directly with when Tom Brady took off and threw 50 TDs, almost half to Moss. Come on with this obviously false history.

That's a silly way of looking at pay comparisons. Cap hit tells a more accurate story regarding a QB's pay impact to their team and as a comparison to other QBs.

Wilson's QB cap hits relative to other QBs based off existing contracts (Luck will soon bump Wilson down another spot)
2015 19th
2016 12th
2017 11th
2018 5th

So he doesn't even approach top 10 comparable hit until 2018.

Below are the QBs with more of a Cap hit over the next two years.
(leaving aside new contracts...see Luck and people who may be cut or traded....see Kaep).

2016
Drew Brees
Joe Flacco
Eli Manning
Ben Roethlisberger
Matt Ryan
Matthew Stafford
Peyton Manning
Philip Rivers
Tony Romo
Cam Newton
Aaron Rodgers

2017
Joe Flacco
Tony Romo
Matt Ryan
Matthew Stafford
Carson Palmer
Aaron Rodgers
Ryan Tannehill
Cam Newton
Eli Manning
Colin Kaepernick

He's not even a game manager at this point. Game managers manage the flow of the offense. They take what the defense gives them, even if this means little gains or dump offs in the flat. Russ is always going downfield when he passes. Rarely anything short or intermediate. He's always trying to make something out of nothing, a strength and a weakness. And game managers protect the football - something Russell hasn't been doing. No Russell isn't a game manager - he's a play maker who's just not making any plays.

Its so dumb for you guys to criticize this as the worst o line in the league and then at the same time blame wilson.

You realize that being pressured after maybe a second all season will affect a qbs abilities even on those few snaps he does have more time right? Right now wilson is being rushed through his progressions, his motion in his throws, and constantly looking over his shoulder.. to the sides.. infront of him wondering where the pressure is coming from because its generally coming every down.

Wilson is the same guy he has been the last 3 seasons.. but after taking a league high 30 sacks in the first half he has to make changes to his play to prevent that and thats what were seeing.. sure he could just sit back and go through progressions and motions like other qbs in the league are afforded the time to.. but then hes gona have 70-80 sacks by season end.. yall are gona be yelling at him to get rid of the ball.. and this is if he even makes it to seasons end taking that much punishment.

There have been more rookie and young qbs ruined by situations like this.. highly drafted no o line.. puts play makers around them then when qb doesnt excell or begins to regress they blame the qb and not the fact that the position the team is putting them in is causing them to rush their motions get happy feet and regress from the form and ability that got them drafted.

Nah, he's just having an off year with a poor o-line.

We've all seen how talented Russ can be, lets not forget about that.

You'd think it would be that easy. But, people have made their minds up about a guy, 3 1/2 years in. Regardless of what he has done.

He's going downfield because that's where the routes are.

"That's where the money is"
