Well yeah. That's kind of how the draft works (with exceptions), the best talent usually goes towards the top of the draft.

Listen, this is presumably the best draft in recent memory to dominate the second day of, which we do. Most of the names guys have beat to death for 26 ARE STILL THERE at 34. We now have more picks in the second day which may even enable us to move up AGAIN and get ANOTHER ONE.

John knows his board, and he got very good value out of his trades this draft. You play the market, and John played it to the tune of increased value due to the demand for the 35 late-first round prospects in this draft.

If there is one thing this staff has proved it's that it can't evaluate offensive linemen so when the whole NFL world is screaming the Hawks need to draft The Ramz kid Freakin go with it!

Its terrible draft logic to pick the best player available to improve the teams biggest weakness? Do tell.

Taking the perceived "best player" at a position of need regardless of value or your grade on him, because of peer pressure as brim alluded to, is awful draft logic. Yes.

We did that once. His name was James Carpenter. Not exactly a winning pick.
