The thing that bothers me, other teams have poor Offensive Lines (New England) but block fairly well.

I think it's because Cable's schemes are too complicated. I see a lot of 2nd level blocking but in order to get there, they either ignore or whiff on the DL.

Simplify things for these guys!!!! You have to walk before you can run.

If you look in my 710 links for today, Ray Roberts (former lineman) is on with Salk and has some things to say about the line.

Admittedly I am far from an X's and O's guy but from what I can tell, they are pass blocking fairly well considering Russell is not at 100%, limited in what he usually does (running the read option effectively, escaping the pocket, making big plays outside the pocket, all things that can hide the limitations of an OL) so in other words, he's making most of his throws from inside the pocket which requires SOME level of pass pro ability, which I am seeing.

Now as we know, the running game is completely DOA. I wouldn't go as far as saying Cable is the problem, but he hasn't really been able to shut the fans up yet, soooooo....

I think Cables problem is he is still trying to teach with the old CBA mindset. He has not adjusted to the limited amount of time he gets with his guys. Yet he still tries to convert players who have never played football or Oline with limited hitting and OTA's

It would be nice if the team didn't turnover the OL personnel so frequently. This performance should have been expected. That's not on Cable. Sadly they have depended on RW being able to "right" things. When he isn't 100% you get what we are getting. Amazingly the Hawks are 5-2-1.
