One thing is for sure Penalties might be from not practicing 100%, Taking the other team for granted, Bad Coaching. Might be one or all the above. How was the Skins OL way more inexperience than ours but looked better than ours. Before you say how'd they look better, We have way better D Line. We have an inability to adjust on Defense once they find a weakness they constantly hit the same person.

miss three FG's
Throw 2 INT's
commit 15 penalties...........

how many teams win doing that to themselves!

Exactly!

Add that we were 0-2 on 2pt conversions, that's 11 points lost because of the kicking game. Plus the field position flip after all three misses created a longer field for the offense after the D locked them down over and over. Add 15 penalties and two turnovers. That's going to be a loss for any team, almost every time.

Even with all these mistakes, we should win at home against a team decimated by injuries. Coaching destroyed any chance of that .
Abandoning the run when down 8 points
Going for 2 both times was not necessary and not smart given our track record
Horrible time management
Excessive deep passes against a defense defending it

We constantly here about continuity on the o-line being important, yet most other teams can get their backups to come in and be competent. Seriously, if we were in the situation the 'Skins were, our oline would have been absolutely destroyed almost every play. Their line didnt look that bad relative to our starting unit.

The other week after we saw a screen pass called, Wilson said they have it in the playbook it just never got called. That is inexcusable and that is your playcaller. Half the time our playcalling makes no freakin sense and this is just one example. Stop messing around and run some damn boring plays that work. You can't honestly say you self scout and not notice these things.

The offense dominated the game, so there's no worries there. We just need to convert those kicks and we'll be fine.

Rewatched the game and saw a number of passes to our backs, so that check-down short play is being utilized.

Wrong again Darrell, you need to score touchdowns when you are over 400 yards of offense, and that was with short fields many times. You don't drive to the 20 hoping to make 30 yard field goals as a philosophy.

Yes, and that's where the 10 penalties on offense come into play. Hell, we had a number of big plays that were called back that would have set us up in prime position. Just have to learn from those mistakes and be more disciplined tonight.

Really, that's what they're there for? I thought it was just to tell players where they need to be on any given play and the players have to dig deep inside themselves on the how of doing it and need to have sub meetings among themselves only to coordinate with the other players on timing and execution. And if they consistently come up short on that it's their own damn fault for not being good at self learning and communicating their revelations and ideas to other people on the team. Now you're telling me that coaches might have some hand in the process? No effing way.

;)

I just had another snarky idea:

JSPC purposefully drafts players that are talented but are borderline uncoachable. So it's his fault.

Yep. And that's why the Hawks are one of the winningest teams in the league the past 5 years. They make the necessary adjustments and bolt to huge Novembers and Decembers. Expect more of the same.

They dominated the game, shot themselves in the foot over and over again. It happens, they'll learn from it and start rollin.

I learned witht certainty our OLine coach doesn't do a very good job coaching the Oline, or coordinating the run game. I actually knew that previously but it was certainly brought home with no question watching a 2 man rush get pressures on RW. the penalties are a sick joke.

You mean like the goal line inside slant pass that got picked again?

No chance of that.

What an incredibly pathetic play call that was. Only if we had a 6 foot 13 TE who can't be covered one on one instead......

Wait, they dominated the game or they had 10 penalties and couldn't score touchdowns until the fourth. Which is it?

Yards don't win games! We shit all over Luck for throwing for tons of yards but not leading an efficient, dominant, balanced offense. Now our QB is throwing for the second most yards per game and we're looking like that Colts offense (not the current one, the one where they were going 11-5 with Luck carrying the offense). Not Russ' fault, it's the entire offense being so inconsistent and downright impotent at times.

We moved the ball to find ourselves in field position enough to put 9 points on the board. That didn't happen and we lost by 3. But in terms of time of possession, yards and first downs, yes, we dominated. Just need to finish things off better tonight.

Just look at home many big plays were called back, 10 penalties on the Offense. Easily could have been a 3 TD win, and should have. Play disciplined and it's a blowout. Credit to Wash for taking care of the stupid crap the Hawks pulled off over and over again last week.

That call was more about stroking somebodies ego than it was about getting points.

How did that turn out Darrell?

Yeah, dead horse or not, he seems pretty clueless in the red zone. And why he decides to get cute down there makes zero sense.

Well that is a plus. I guess our record is 5-3D now instead of just 5-3. That should help us if we need the tie breaker correct? :snack:
