Wilson is playing in an offense straight out of 1979, you can't compare his yard totals to QBs playing in a modern NFL offense.

It is an apples and oranges comparison.

Like I said what they rolled out week 1, ain't it.

Wilson finds ways to win. And If he wasn't Quarterbacking the Seahawks they would be lucky to win 5 games.

Some of you are way too obsessed with stats. It's kind of pitiful. I'll take Russ' 200 over Dalton's empty 400 any day

Speaking of which ............. [tweet]https://twitter.com/Curtis_Crabtree/status/1170869007206862849[/tweet] ....... lets see them stat lovers spin that.

Yes but that’s at home. What are the stats on the road when they throw for 400 yards?

That's both home and road - only given up 400 on the road once, to NY (which is in that list).

Love this place, Wilson has a 134 rating, we win and no turnovers for him yet he is garbage and didn't throw for enough yards to be worth his contract and should be traded, all in one day.

Nobody is saying he is garbage except a couple of donkeys

Schotty is sure schotty though.

If you think his talents are being best utilized than bully for you

Logic:

Wilson was 18th in yards last year, therefore should have the 18th highest QB salary.

Eli Manning was 9th in yards last year, therefore should have the 9th highest QB salary.

Don't forget that Case Keenum should also make more money than Russell Wilson.

The Seahawks care about winning football, as do the Patriots.

The Patriots don't care whether Brady throws for 400 yards, or for 150 with his running back getting 250 yards. The complete lack of football knowledge on this is really bizarre.

With a strong running game, we'll continue to win games because we have an elite QB that they respect. Teams will always have to pick their poison. The most important thing for a QB isn't how he gets paid, it's how he fits into your philosophy. That's what makes Russell valuable.

Far too many idiotic, less successful teams over use their good or average QBs because of how much they paid them. Instead of using them in a way that makes the team WIN GAMES

Wilson is paid what he is paid to be the most efficient deep ball passer in the league.

70% completion
Nearly 10 yards per attempt
2 touchdowns on 20 passes
No interceptions

And one rare drop by Lock on a flat out dime that could have sealed it even earlier. Earlier he held the ball too long on a couple plays, but the pass blocking was painfully bad for the most part.
He did what he does, gets it done when it counts.

Who are you talking about?

Mostly everyone on here is saying RW is top 5 QB or should be in Top 20 players of NFL 2019.

I’m saying no.

That's the beauty of the internet-- you can say anything you want and share any opinion.

But opinions that have no basis in fact will also get called out quickly as the useless contributions that they are.

Thanks for exemplifying this for us.

I am curious what you would base your opinion on?

I'm guessing it's fantasy football stats. :34853_doh:

This. Wilson wants to WIN. He doesn't care about stats.

...Too many lifeless 3 and outs? Just a guess. Too many years of excuses. Just glad we won. Next game.

I would be curious on league wide stats of 3 and outs.

I would hazard a guess that we are probably league average or better if such stats were kept.

I have a hard time figuring out how we could be a terrible team in 3 and outs, and one of the beat teams in ToP.

Look here:

If the numbers are correct, the Seahawks had a 3/Out on 27.8% of their drives, which was third worst in the league last year. But the vaunted Patriots were at the middle of the pack at 20.5%. So that's a 7% difference, which means out of the 176 drives last year, 49 resulted in 3 and outs, versus 36 at the Patriots' rate. It's not nothing, but it's not the 75% three and out rate I think some people are perceiving. What's crazy is the Rams had a 10.9% rate (leaders).

If you start going through those numbers you also see that Seattle was 8th best in red zone TD percentage, but 7th in punts per drive. But then they're 8th in TDs per drive. This team was absolutely feast or famine on offense, but that's not unusual. 2017 had worse TD numbers, which is probably why last year was a little bit better.

134 QBR, 2 TD's and zero picks. Behind a swiss cheese o-line, and won yet again. But yeah, he doesn't deserve that contract because he didn't throw for over 400 yards. 7 plus years and some still don't get it. So funny.
