I feel the Dline was getting pressure and on all their replays they were, just gotta give credit to the Zebras for ignoring the tremendous amounts of holding that the Patriots literally got away with.

YES i'm not the only one who saw this obvious holding all game .

Wilson doesn't need a DL this year. He's unconscious. Look out NFL.

We have given up almost a 1000 yards in 2 games. This team is Russell Wilson and a bunch of warm bodies.

Putting my green and blue glasses on I am hoping all those big plays in the middle of the field were the results of. Diggs and Blair being out. Although I am thinking we'll have to learn to Iive without Blair

Man, I don't know how you can watch that, and how the secondary adapted to losing Blair and Diggs, and not be completely stoked. Amadi had a couple of ridiculous plays.

And Collier suddenly matters. Let's celebrate, friends.

We need to give Cam Newton some credit. He’s clearly healthy again. He’s a big strong guy who has always been very hard to bring down. He’s also now playing for the best coach he’s ever had, and you can already see a difference in his passing and decision making so far this season.

The Hawks’ offense looks fantastic. Wilson and Schotty are simpatico. We have possibly the best receiver, TE, and RB groups we’ve had under Pete.

We have amazing depth in the secondary. We have great LBs.

Is the defensive line a concern? Yes, especially if Bruce is out for any length of time. Do we need to be completely gloom and doom? Nope. If the D line can manage even a halfway decent job, this should be an enjoyable season. Collier is getting better. Robinson has great potential. Green should continue his growth. Mayowa is a savvy player. There are issues, but let’s not panic just yet.

Enjoy 2-0. One game at a time.

There's always a "but..." around this place.

We won but we had a slow start.
We won but the other team scored some points.
We won but I still don't like our ______ coach so we should fire him.
We won but we didn't win convincingly enough so ______ should be fired.

We've even had posters on this board advocate some drastic changes then openly admit they don't care if the changes they are calling for even work. In their own words, they are just "ready for a change" & are curious to see what would happen & to see if they are right.

Seriously, this actually happened on this board.

They're going to have to figure out something otherwise this team will likely get punted in the Divisional or NFC Championship game even with Wilson chucking 4-5 TDs a game. It's early in the season, so they have plenty of time and the first couple of weeks, so we'll see.

A win is a win but remember that the Pats had 8 players that opted out this season including a couple studs named ,Hightower and Chung . Is Newton that good or did the Hawks D make him look good ? If Wilson's offense can put up 35 pts. every game then the Hawks should be fine , but that might be a high number to maintain , week in and week out . They need to improve on QB pressures and 3rd down defense a lot . IMO

Teams aren't going to run the ball when having so much success throwing.

The 2018 Chiefs put up over 35 points a game. They lost to the team in the AFC Championship that could get stops when they needed to. When you put up 35 PPG and your defense averages over 25 PPG allowed, you're playing wild with a defense that lets the really good teams score when they need to.

A lot of people were complaining about the offense last year, have been obsessed with "Let Russ Cook" or whatever. The offense last year was good enough to win a Super Bowl. The defense kept opposing offenses under 20 points only two times last year.

Watching Russell Wilson chuck the ball around and make big plays is fun and the season will be fun because of it. But the probability of the team being carried to a championship on that is pretty low. They have to get something reasonably good and consistent on defense. Starting 2-0 has bought them some time to do that.

Some related musings:
Losing Diggs made everything harder for the D.
Still lots of newer parts in the secondary that should evolve more solidly as the season continues. Talent is there, they need to learn to play together.

Pass rush can't get much worse. Didn't seem like a lot of blitzing (probably for reasons), but blitzes that they ran seemed pretty ineffective. Don't know if that's personnel or scheme or both. The whole look seemed very 'vanilla'. As stated, failure to fix this through scheme, personnel, or both will be this season's achilies heel.

We won. That is all that matters.

PC gets out coached often. That wasn't the first, or last time it will happen. Give some credit to NE and their Superman. They played well.

We still have a lot to fix on our D. PC should devote all his effort in that direction. His efforts on our O are useless. His call on 3rd and 1 proved it once again. Some guys just never learn.

Winning certainly matters most.

Ian Furness just reported that through the 1st two games Hawks have given up the 2nd most passing yards in NFL history, surpassed only by the 2018 Chiefs. What does that say about being 2-0? (I'm optimistic it won't continue, btw)

Come on, they just got a huge win over a damn good opponent. Enjoy it. If Diggs doesn't get kicked out and Blair doesn't get injured, no way the Pats roll up the yards and points like they did. And credit to them, they played a hell of a game. Shoot, Cam was as good as he's ever been, was really surprised at how well he played.
Also, they were handed 7 points on a fluke touchdown AND Dunbar dropped a sure Pick 6.
This game was evenly matched and came down to the wire as many expected. LOVED the ending.
That being said, HATED the 3rd and 1 pass call, so stupid. Oh well, Win, all that matters.

Norton is going to be a lead anchor Wilson will have to overcome all year.

He can do it. But we almost lost that game. Their WR let that ball go right through his hands.

Sure, we were playing with a 3rd string safety. But not some guy that never saw the field before.

Hill saw plenty of field time last year. He was 2nd string before and rotated in enough. So what we did in that game was no excuse.

We have now given up near 30 against each QB and 300+ yds to each QB. That is terrible.

Say what you will about our roster being thin, but the guy Norton replaced managed to keep it together when his CB and starting safety went down. We at least were average. Norton just isn't good. If he was, he would have been good for the Raiders. People tend to believe that Carroll is such a guru that anyone at DC suddenly becomes better here - as if Carroll has magical pixie dust that makes DCs great. No.

The good news is that Carroll has no choice but to let Russ Cook now because his defense is garbage. That bad is that he will need to score 28 points a game to win now.

The test will be against Dak. If Dak Prescott comes in here scoring 30 pts and 300 yds we will know this is all Norton and nothing to do with Bill or Dan Quinn being such amazing coaches.

Great win but when your QB scores 5 TDs and you still almost lose - there is a problem. That problem seems to be our DC.
