Should the Seahawks Consider trading Jamal Adams after signing Julian Love?

We need more Cap Space….
What is his trade Value?

Or….
Do you move him to LB?

I’m sure they keep Adams one more year.

If they cut/release Adams, that means, they would have used that money saved to have signed more players/a big time player by now.

Not saying the guys they signed aren’t great signings but Seattle will keep Adams IMO one more year.

I'm not sure what the plan is with Adams, but just for informational purposes, according to OTC, releasing him before June 1 would cost us $5.78 million in cap space this year. If we cut him after June 1 we save $8.44 million in cap space this year. Also, trades are similar in that if we do it before June 1 it hurts our cap more than if we do it after.

Basically we'd be hurting ourselves by not keeping him until at least June 1. So, I don't see anything happening before then. There's a lot of time between now and then for John and Pete to make the moves they are going to make, so it looks like we'll just have to wait and see.

I imagine they hope he stays healthy and can inject additional talent into the defense. If he doesn't, they can move on next year.

I think there’s a 50/50 chance that Adams is a post June 1 cut. My fear is Adams gets hurt in 2023 and won’t be able to be released due to being injured.
Oh...so THAT'S why he's still here! LOL.
He's been on site working out is the info I hear. He's trying to get back to form. Whether or not he makes it is anyone's guess, but he's making progress. I wouldn't put him back as safety, but that's all been hashed out previously. I think they just haven't yet figured out, or created, the perfect spot to take advantage of his skills without throwing him into a meat grinder.

I would be tempted to put Adams in bubble wrap or have him go home and pay him to stay in his house a la Derek Carr

Due to his recent injury history, I think Adams doesn't have trade value. I wouldn't be opposed to trading Diggs. I think his contract is too high for the value he gives. Yet he still has been healthier and does have trade value. Diggs is good but not great.

The best thing about adding Love to Diggs and Neal (for now) is you can ask less from Adams in coverage and ask less as a tone setter in the hitting department.

But I think they’ll literally ask for less from Adams,

…like our vision for you has changed, but we have a plan for you, we want you to be a nickle/dime role player specifically in the box and be able to pin your ears back as a pass rusher but in order to do this we want to renegotiate and reduce your salary $8-$12m less per year but we’ll offer incentives to earn half that back with availability and production escalators….

Then Adams has to face that ultimatum and really figure if he wants to remain a part of this team and face the challenge of being reduced to a specialist. Or face the challenge of an open market that might also only view him as a specialist rather than an up-and-coming safety and if he can even get mid-market money at this point or long term stability for that matter considering his play and injury history.

I’d consider it a win-win scenario either way for the Seahawks whether he moves on or stays on in a reduced role and reduced compensation.

When the Seahawks traded for Jamal Adams, they still believed in the potential of the team with @DangerPuss at "sack of potatoes-back". There was a possible Super Bowl in that window that they were aiming for.
But, that idea fell apart and Jamal Adams is now an unknown as he recovers from injuries...It would be great to trade him, but releasing him at the deadline seems kind of insulting to a player that is still a potential "star".
We are now really strong at safety. Would he take a reduced contract?
