That's...not good. Really hope he didn't tear something. Figures it would happen right when Altidore seemed to be getting into peak form.

I must say, for as much rain as they've had in Natal the past few days that pitch looks in pretty good shape.

Excellent save after a butchered clearance by Howard.

Good news for Altidore, in that it's a strained hamstring. Doubt he makes it back for Portugal, though.

Oh great, and now Dempsey has a possible broken nose.

Whew, he's back on. Let's just hope it doesn't affect his breathing.

Doesn't look broken to me. Definitely filled with blood, though.

Ghana will be getting some more yellow cards soon if they're not careful. Don't know that tackle wasn't one. He didn't even go for the ball.

Woooo boys that first half flew by! Great goal by Dempsey, pure class in the box. I feel so sorry for Altidore picking up that hamstring injury, then quite the scare when Dempsey gets a leg to the face.

Beasley has been getting eaten up on the flank. I think I counted him falling to the ground after simple step overs and change of direction 3 times. I really like what Bradley and Beckerman have been showing, even though their touches have been limited. If the US can settle down and transition from defense to offense a bit better, we could put another one away and bury this game.

Ghana is getting REALLY chippy.

Matt Besler subbed off at halftime. He was clutching his hamstring just before the break. I hope it's just precautionary.

US just can't keep possession. Too many cheap giveaways.

I can't remember the last time the US put three consecutive passes together in Ghana's half.
