Wilson was right when he says that Broncos could easily be 4-1; but one could also argue that without the ball mismanagement by the Bears, they should be 0-5.

A few things analytic bureaus found out:
  1. Broncos invested heavily on their OL, and Wilson has been enjoying 2.7 sec of pocket time, one of the most in the league, in comparison: Mahomes and Geno 2.4 sec., Goff 2.3 sec., Tua 2.1 sec., Burrow 2.0 sec., Plenty of time for Hero ball.
  2. WRs dropped balls, that must be the problem right? Chiefs so far dropped 11, Broncos? 2, Hawks 4.
  3. OK, got to be fumbles? ummm Jaguar leads with 13, Broncos at 7, Chief at 5. Wilson dropped 3 of those 7?
    https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/most-fumbles-by-team-leaders-in-the-nfl-2023
  4. QB Sacks, Wilson had 2.7 sec pocket time but he is one of the most sacked QB at 15 sacks.
  5. Poor passes, Wilson is the 12th worst in the league at 24.
So here, a QB with plenty of the time the pocket, not much pressure but suffer high sack rate, lots of poor passes, and fumbles.

Just FYI on #3. Broncos are #2 in the league in fumble loss w/ 6. Also Wilson has 2 which is pretty rare as he usually does a good job on holding on to the ball in his career. He averages about 2 a year, which is usually in the top 3. Amazing the amount of time he gets hit & sack and very little turnovers. There was an article about him being the top 3 in recovering his fumbles of all time upto 2020. Anyway, if you remove Wilson fumbles, the Broncos would still be ranked #4 in Fumbles loss.

Another note, Wilson has actually been awesome at the redzone, despite that poor performance against the Jets. I also recall the Dolphins game, there were two iffy TDs that got called back and Sutton dropped one in the endzone. Despite all that, he is starting to get back to his old form.

1st - Completions
5th - Completion percentage
3rd - TDs w/ 8TD to 0int
1st - Yards
Broncos are 8th in points in redzones

Broncos are a top 10 scoring offense right now. While the defense is dead last in yards/points allowed by huge margin.

Yup, Broncos are #10 in points per game scored. I had to look it up to believe it. #10 or not, they have trouble scoring at crunch time, winnin' time.
And dead last in points allowed.

By my calculations, the Broncos are down about 7 or 8 impact players as a result of the Wilson trade + Payton acquisition. The overall roster talent is too thin for the Broncos to be a playoff team this year and probably next year as well. Wilson isn't able to carry them because he's just not that kind of QB anymore, if indeed he ever was. OK, Russell was that QB in the first half of 2015, legit MVP convo, but it didn't last the full season.

Sounds familiar. Lots of easy completions with little to show for it. A QB that can't control TOP. A gassed defense that can't keep them in games.

Seattle is dead last in TOP, but at least our defense can keep us in the games.

The first half of the Seahawks' 2015 season went loss, loss, win, win, loss, loss, win, win. The bye fell right in the middle of the season, in week nine. The Seahawks coaches used the bye to fix some problems and install some different concepts. The result was a spectacular second half for Wilson and the whole offense. The first game of the second half, against Arizona, did not go well for Wilson or the Seahawks, with the team falling to 4-5. But then they went 6-1 over the rest of the season, the one loss coming in week 16 against the Rams. After a 4-5 start, the Seahawks ended up 10-6 and in the playoffs.

The Bears and the commanders were willing to give up 3 firsts but those teams were blocked due to the no trade clause. We could have gotten more than what the Broncos gave up. Not complaining though. It was the best trade ever.
Not TOO much more, though, as they weren't offering the second rounders with the firsts apparently.

You mean the second half of 2015. Wilson in 2015 second half was considered one of the greatest statistic performance in NFL history. He had like 25TDs to 1int in that stretch. Rating over 135

All empty trash statistics as usual he looks great and his team gets blamed for being trash. Looking forward to Mahomes playing average and Kelce limping around thinking about Taylor Swift and still convincing Russ and Peyton to find a new career together those assholes deserve each other.

Yes seahawks are last in TOP. They actually had been one of the bottom defense this season. The Giants game boosted their stats up. TOP has more to do with defense IMO then the offense. When Wilson was playing for us w/ a decent defense or even mediocre defense, our TOP was average to good.

Since 2020, the Seahawks TOP has been near last, ever since the defense went downhill w the bend dont break defense.

As for, easy completion nothing to show for it, not sure i understand that statement. They are top 10 offense in scoring. They are one of the better red zone scoring team. Their 3rd down conversion has greatly improved.

The reason they are losing, is because of the historically bad defense not TOP. Seahawks were ranked 31st in TOP & currently 32nd this year and they have a winning record.

In Russell's case it seems so...your thoughts? Any clue why that defense is utter shit? One guess only sir. Or how about that awesome OL suddenly utter sht? Only one guess sir pick carefully. Don't mind my snickering while you try and excuse Russell Wilson. As I said utterly empty statistics just like Kirk Cousins funny thing is both have been completely overpaid their entire careers and both have achieved nothing on their own.

Defensive coordinator? Russell played bad last year and defense was good.

This defense is giving up 450yards a game which is on pace to be the highest in history, 180yards rushing, and 36.1points which hasn't happen since 1950.

Norton & Hurt are examples of bad coordinator.

Average TOP is hard to gauge this early in the season. Removing the Rams game puts the Seahawks around league average.

The issue this year is not on Wilson.
Maybe, maybe not. Sean Payton chewed him out last game because he didn't diagnose the blitz on that strip sack fumble. His presnap recognition grades out as ... poor. Why is that film study he talks about in pressers not paying off?

So convenient yet just like in Seattle same results. Dude when Geno Smith outdoes you you need a new gig.

His Inability to diagnose the blitz has been a thing for a while he was able to hide with legs.. and now he’s not using them as much and it’s showing. The last few yrs he was here he’d drop back and not even bother to use his legs, he’d go into the fetal position right after drop back the minute he sense any pressure.

I swear between TNF Kansas City v Denver Travis pissing off his ex by dating Taylor and imminent retirement of Russell Wilson combined with Seattle v Cincinnati on basically national TV I'm in heaven.
