Sensing sarcasm possibly, but just in case it's not, we signed him last year but he hurt himself in training camp and never really did anything. He only played in a few games all year, and only a handful of snaps in each. It wouldn't be surprising if people don't remember him.

IF he's a starting corner some September we have problems.

Burns is another former Steelers' first round pick (like Devin Bush), who was good his rookie year, then faded. Steelers declined his fifth year option, Burns went to Chicago and tore his ACL. Steelers attributed his decline to a "loss of confidence" on Burns' part.

The guy had all kinds of speed, setting youth track records in high school. Burns was playing well in training camp last year, and was penciled in to be the starter until he suffered a groin injury in August, which allowed Tariq Woolen a chance to step up. Bob Condotta in the Seattle Times wrote about the loss of Burns, and how the Seahawks might have to try rookie Woolen at corner. Seems funny now.

Initials are AB. It’s possible another former Steeler is using the name Artie Burns as an alias just to get back into the NFL.

I'm good with this. He may not make the team, but more competition in camp is a good thing.

Burns is probably thinking he can get some work on film for other possible teams if he's cut.

According to a couple of videos on YouTube today, some of our DBs were limited in practice, so bringing Burns in to get reps others are missing is a good choice. He may be able to stick.

Woolen got nicked. It puts a veteran on the practice field in the interim.
