Again. I'm just still surprised a local company over there would be willing to fly the message for the 12th Man. You would certainly hope that any local Seattle company if given the same offer by SF fans would turn it down.

Being local doesn't make them 9er fans. They might not even like football. Doesn't seem possible but who knows.

Kind of a dick move IMO and I can't really say I support it. I'm sure we certainly wouldn't appreciate a "Go Niners" banner flying over clink when they Niners are in town. I'm also surprised a local SF plane company would be willing to do this.

We're truly sorry this will hurt your feelings Mrs. Kaepernick.

I think it's a great idea. Pilot will have to stay above 3000 ft.

Stadiums
FDC 9/5151, issued under 14 CFR 99.7 on "Special Security Instructions," restricts flight over stadiums during major league baseball, National Football League, NCAA, and motor speedway events. The so-called “stadium TFR” prohibits stadium.jpgall aircraft and parachute operations at or below 3,000 AGL within a 3 nm radius of any stadium with a seating capacity of 30,000 or more people when there is a major league baseball game, NFL game, NCAA division one football game, or major motor speedway event occurring. This TFR applies to the entire US domestic national airspace system, and takes effect from one hour before the scheduled event time until one hour after the event concludes.

https://www.faasafety.gov/gslac/ALC/cou ... eview=true

Highly doubt it's going to be some local SF pilot but could be. Could also very easily be a some private pilot from Seattle that simply flew their own plane down or rented one out of a local airpark.

As for the 3000 AGL restriction, see the rules on a precautionary landing. A simple radio call to the closest controlled tower with something like...

"MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY, San Fransisco tower. Cessna 172 Sierra Echo Alpha four niner, engine trouble, can not maintain cruising altitude of 3000 AGL. Visibility unlimited, Estimated position 1 mile north of Candle Stick, descending through 2,500 ft, intend to maintain 1000 ft AGL over the stadium, possible forced landing in Candle Sticks parking lot, unless engine power miraculously comes back. 4 souls on board, engine failure San Fransisco tower, MAYDAY!"

It was the strangest thing, every time we'd rent a bird and fly out to Ocean Shores, we'd run into engine power problems when we got over the beach. Clearly it is advised to land as soon as it is safe, which apparently just happened to ALWAYS be on the beach at our favorite camp site on the ocean. What are the odds?!

You're the kind of guy who drives 55 in the passing lane and gets pissed off when people ride your ass.

it's you, isn't it Ivotuk? Not going to be surprised if it's a Red and white Maule with skis hauling that banner come game day.

Job well done. Please post here if y'all ever want to do it again. The wife and I were happy to contribute, but we almost missed out, because we didn't hear about it in time.

As a fan that lives in the Midwest.. I think this move is a waste of time and money. Why not take that money and feed the homeless?

We would never do this to the St. Louis Rams Fans.. why? Because they have something we don’t.. it may be only one but until we get it …then all this tom foolery is a waste of time.

So, until WE see Russell Wilson hoist that Lombardi Trophy over his head.. we need to be humble fans. We need to be the better fans in the NFL.

GO SEAHAWKS!

I say we support the people that actually work for a living, that way they don't become homeless.

Thought it was funny when the Giants fans did it to the Dodgers fans, and thought it was funny when the Hawks fans copied 'em and did it to the 9ers.

It adds to the rivalry, and it's entertaining.

Not something I'd personally spend my money on, but I'm absolutely not opposed to folks who have chosen to do so. :)

We wouldn't do this to the Rams because they have a dome.

I can't believe this isn't getting more play. A midwestern do gooder tries to pull the feed the children card, and MISSES THAT THE RAMS PLAY INSIDE and only one guy chops him up?

Let us really address everything wrong with this post.

The user name. Tom Flores sucked. When Tom passes on, his grave will become a sinkhole, possibly even a black hole, that is how much he sucked. Tom Flores could actully end our universe, and you want to honor his legacy. Otherwise, great username.

The aformentioned we would not fly a banner like this over a dome. Either you are the world's best troll, or I am amazed you haven't been ran over crossing the street. I lean to the latter.

Why indeed not take that money and feed the homeless? Because, and follow closely here, a pilot, a signmaker, several airport employees, tv cameramen, air traffic controllers, all made actual wages producing, covering, and making safe the flying of a banner we all saw on TV. They will feed their families. Or waste the money on blow and strippers. YOU feed the homeless. Take pictures, then sell the camera so you can feed more homeless. Only post those pictures from the library's computer, because I expect you to sell your own, and feed the homeless.

The capitalized WE as you address the fans. Shaddup. Speak for yourself. Never, and I mean never, presume to tell me what quality to display. and remain humble until we have one (lombardi i guess) to brag about? You have been outed, old ass Rams fan. I mean, who else would ever say TOM FOOLERY?

Well gee, I'm sure glad some guy from the Midwest told me how to be a good Seahawks fan. We've been doing it all wrong up here in Seattle.

And to think, I've been going to games since the 1980's, and really enjoyed all that noise and mayhem. Turns out, we've been doing it wrong the whole time. We should have been humble and quiet.

You should write the Seahawks an open letter and let them know we're doing it all wrong. Enough of this 12th Man foolishness! We should be quiet, and we should be feeding homeless people.

BTW, there is a ton of food for the homeless already in Seattle. The Seattle Weekly just ran a story about it the other day, in fact. Our homeless people can eat gourmet food every day of the week if they want.

pointless since they play in a domed stadium too.. read the article.. over $1k went to the wounded warrior foundation as well.. don't tell people how to spend their money.. I am sure you spent some money while attending the MNF game.. why didn't you just donate that 15-20 bucks to the homeless and forego a snack or beer for a 3hr football game..

Right because local companies love to turn down money to feed the homeless right FloresHawk?

I bet they like money.. isn't that why you are business? Herm Edwards said... you run a business to make money.. he also said something about why you play the game too..

The banner was cool as hell! Well done.

Is it just me, who reads every post a ram fan who comes here pretending to be someone else, as Avengerloser?

I'll admit, when I first heard this idea I thought it was pretty lame and a waste of money. But on second glance it was pretty sweet for Hawk fans that they were able to get together and make that happen. I heard it was only about $1800 split between about a hundred fans. Roughly 20 bucks a pop, I'd do that in a heartbeat for SF. Not 100% original ,but bravo nonetheless.
