It just makes a lot of sense, unless there are things about Ben Johnson, we are not aware of. (For example, what is his vision for the team?) He could be excellent in the X's and O's dept, but lacking in other areas of team development.

A lot of competition with 5 other teams he's had interviews with though.

Is John Schneider a skilled recruiter/salesman? That might be what it comes down to.

I think Ben Johnson is tied to the Commanders from what I'm hearing. I also think Quinn or Slowik have no role here whatsoever. I really think Seattle is eyeing McDonald. Since they didn't request an interview before the 15th, they have to wait until The Ravens have been eliminated to talk to him.

If DQ was a shoo-in, I think we would have snatched him up by now. Not saying there isn’t a chance…

The Commanders HC vacancy is going to be hard to pass up considering they have a new GM and a high pick to grab a QB. An OC transitioning to HC would find that very attractive.
