There's nothing wrong with establishing an identity such as a strong running team. We had great success.
It's the ability to adapt to your opponent I find lacking. If it's not there, it's not there. The more you jam Carson up the middle doesn't equate to "sticking to your guns" nor does it "fool" the defense. The ability to adapt is severely lacking.
The only reason for not switching up the offense a bit in situations like the Dallas game is (and even this is a stretch) if your QB is just plain terrible.
