Cable has had 3 1st rounders to work with.

Okung = Bust. Was there before Cable. We didn't resign him.
Carpender = Late 1st round. Turned into a pretty good Guard. Maybe we should have kept him. This on Cable?
Iffedi = Late 1st round. Showed good moments during the seasons. He's a rookie. Jury is still out.

This offseason will be extremely interesting.

If any of Bevell, Richard, or Cable are still here going into next season, that will be interesting. If any of them aren't, that will be interesting. I can't wait to see which direction Paul, John, and Pete go.
I just can't get behind this Cable got to go crap . Try cooking a decent meal with spoiled ingredients. With what he had I think he did a phenomenal job. The others I'm totally with it they both got to go
Come on bruh! He hand picks the linemen in the draft. He decides who he wants! How in the world do you think teams like New England and Pittsburgh are able to just plug any backup or new lineman into the lineup and but miss a beat? Cable has no idea what he's doing. He gets the guys he wants, and he ruins them. How many linemen have they drafted since Cable's been here? 14 or 15. How many are still on the team? 3. Cable is a big problem. Anyone who doesn't see that is blind.

He gets to pick with discretion. Pretend you were 16 right now and your Dad said, I will buy a car for you but it has to be under $2000.

Flashbacks to my first car, a 92 Ford Escort that sucked.

The oline is a problem but there's a few factors that come into that. Continuity is the biggest asset to an oline, the longer they're together the better they are. This olines seen how many variations in Cables time, too many parts moving in and out on this team... A team like NE or Pitt can take a piece and move it in and still do well because the bulk of the line is in place. When a line is otherwise steady and has probowl calibre players, taking out a piece and replacing it can be done and even if there is a liability at a spot the veterans can aid in making up for potential shortcomings and errors during the learning curve. This line was all projects and rooks, that is a lot of mistakes coming at the same time and it's asking too much of any Oline coach to make them good let alone great. That is going to take time. I'm not saying Cable is without blame, but this has to fall on him and management for letting too many olinemen walk, as just as we suffer thru the worst of their years and they get to a competent level the management let them walk off and we're back at square one. Part of this has to fall on Bevell as well as he could call plays that better understand his olines deficencies but we get a lot of long developing plays and play action and it gets Russ eaten alive. This was a combined effort at making a mess

Continuity comes from actually being good enough to retain in the first place.

Merely pointing out Cable has had plenty to work with. In addition he has a 2nd rounder in britt. Dallas' OL only has 3 1st rd picks.

How many playoff embarrassments do we need to rack up before someone is shown the door? XLIX, the no-show in Carolina, the belly flop today--we're developing a reputation as perennial pretenders, and our coaches keep telling us things are fine. It's ridiculous, demoralizing, and only getting harder to root for.

If Pete is serious about winning another trophy--and I belive he is--nothing would lift my spirits more than seeing someone, anyone, held accountable.

Playoff teams generally do not fire coaches, they lose them to promotions.

And yet nobody seems to want ours.

Really? Have you been watching the Seattle Seahawks for the last two years?

Look at the O-line draft picks we've spent since Cable arrived then compare the same time frame to other teams.

He has had more to work with than I expected before I looked. We've actually invested a lot of picks in the line compared to the league average.

My main issue is we let guys go so liberally. Carpenter was a reach for where he was drafted. Now he is a solid OG. We draft these projects then refuse to pay them even if the project is showing signs of success. Maybe Cable is to blame for this too but continuity is important for a OLine.

Current trend would mean Britt would be the next to go.

If nothing changes with those 3 then they will be the same team year in and out. Win the wildcard game then lose the next one. They need new voices and need changes done.

We can only hope Pete wants to win another one. Not just keep his friends employed.

Clearly that's not true. Biggest thing for them is getting HFA. They play a playoff game in Seattle, they win. They play on the road, they lose.

This is true but then they laid an egg to Arizona and lost the bye. That on coaching and coming out flat

I just do not understand why the Hawks could not beat AZ at home.....that was the dagger in the back for Seattle. We had an open path to a "Bye" week, but blew it. I agree with you that the Hawks needed HFA this year.

Listening to Russell Wilson in his Post Game interview left me shaking my head. It was clear to me that he was not upset at losing this game today. "We just got to play better"....and similar Pablum lacks sincerity in my book.

I think RW has a lot of great attributes and his positive attitude is how he copes with adversity but it absolutely does come across as head in the sand or not wanting to make other people feel bad. It's like he wants to be a whipping boy.

I'm beginning to think that some of our players have a "glass jaw". This team needs to find more players who can "play in pain".....or stay healthy!

Um, we always lose our assistants. We lost to a former one today.

And Im pretty sure both Cable and Richard have been names in the mix.

Im not necessarily saying I would have a problem with change, but the former comment is correct regarding playoff teams rarely gutting their staff.

No. Not this team, not today, not against that Atlanta team that was on the field today. Not with the current injuries.

100% of the healthy team, maybe, maybe not. Today's loss had to be one of the worst defensively game planned and worst scheme and playcalled in the Pete Carrol era. Richard may have had an uphill battle with Earl out against that team, but he and his softzone bullshit failed miserably today.

....and dont think I'm giving the players a pass, I'm not, their execution (especially the secondary) sucked.

That garbage pulled after we punted it to the 1 yard line was completely asinine. Seattle didn't start tightening up till Atlanta got around the 50?! It was even brought by the commentary. We were playing to keep them from getting points before the half. Not to get the ball back and score before half. Almost makes me think the coaching staff was getting owned more than it looked.

Like a fighter looking at the clock hoping not to get knocked out before the round ends.
