Do you play him if he doesn't play between now and the playoffs? It is a tough one.

The last thing you would want is Russell Wilson trying to figure out how to get on the same page as him during a playoff game.

On the same token, if you have a game like Sunday's SF game, where you are desperate for one great play, he could make all the difference.

Good points. The coaches have a good track record of simplifying roles/assignments for players in that sort if situation. I imagine they will use him in some fashion, if he's available, because he demands attention just by being on the field.

A colleague of mine who is an ortho hip specialist and also the same doc who Bob Condotta interviewed earlier in the season about Percy's hip told me that we should be concerned that it's possible that his hip may have no more cartilage given the protracted recovery. He told me if there is no more cartilage in his hip joint that his career as a football player is finished. He also told me, however, that it would be extremely unusual for such a young person to no longer have any cartilage.

I doubt it's a cartilage issue. Pete said that he was dealing with 'increased range of motion' issues that they need to 'figure out.' My guess is this increased range of motion is related to removing buildup around the hip that was causing impingment. The increased range of motion is something the surrounding tissue isn't quite used to yet, so he's experiencing some soreness, inflamation, etc.

I'm of the belief that he may never be 100% yet feel an 80 % Harvin would be better than most in the NFL.

Crazy coincidence...or are you Percy, dradee?
I ask because I once read his twitter feed that someone posted here.

Not being the spelling police, but odd that Harvin spelled the word Have...H A L F. As in, "I half to get some rest" (true story) and you spell the word half...H A V E. As seen above.

I suggest you, dradee, are either Percy Harvin, or you also attended the University of Florida. Please dial us in and please know I mean no offense.

I'm not holding my breath. I've had a bad feeling from the get go, and I've seen absolutely nothing that would make me change my mind.

I know it was an attempt at humour but its pretty obvious he meant "in the first have-to-win game"

And not "in the first 'half'...to win game."

To others: Do you think Percy and Russell have just been ignoring each other just because PH can't practice? I'm sure Wilson as already dissected every game Harvin has played in since college and I'm sure they've built some kind of relationship.

No it doesn't count in games... but I'm sure both players are doing the most they can to shorten the relationship curve as well as the margin of error when it does count in games.

Ask Greg Oden? Why? He had foot problems and he is over seven feet tall. He doesn't have much to do with this. If you want to compare recoveries from this injury look at the TE from The Ravens. He had a similar hip injury around the same time as Percy did but he has recovered better.

"Percy" is the sniveling little shit who pisses himself in "The Green Mile" to me. So I really need "someone" to get healthy and change the face that goes with that name in my head. Until that happens, WET THE SPONGE, YOU A-HOLE!

Yes, because its him and not the Dr's or Pete being overly cautious. He got paid now he doesn't care. Petes been trying to get him to practice and play but you could see in the Minnesota game he clearly wanted to be somewhere else. It was all over his body language. :O

OBSCURE REFERENCE EXPLANATION #1:

"Percy" is the name of a despicable character in Frank Darabont's adaptation of Stephen King's, "The Green Mile", a novel turned movie in 1999. In the film, the character is the clear villain at a prison in which he is not an inmate, rather a well-to-do, There-on-family-name, trouble maker. (Spoiler, he doesn't wet the sponge and he pisses himself)

I was indicating that I need our Percy to become healthy and change the face I currently associate with the name, "Percy"... It was also an, "until he's playing, he's not on my mind" type of response.

Now, this previous post of mine had nothing to do with his heart, nor his inclination to play for the seahawks. So please acknowledge, thus backing off the angry mob. I just want a good Percy to remove the bad Percy from my mind. You dig?

Yeah, I'm sure Percy is some wuss who doesn't want to play, and who isn't a tough player.

I don't think this, but I can see how some would. When Pete continues to say stuff like "there's no structural problems, it's just a soreness thing..........," then it's hard for people to not take this as Percy won't play hurt.

What I think is going on is right now we don't NEED Harvin, so he could probably play if we were fighting for our playoff lives. But we have the luxury of just letting him continue to rehab, get as healthy as he can...........then unleash him come playoff time.

So my guess is Harvin's ability to play is in direct correlation to whether we NEED him to or not, and right now we don't.

Percy will be back for the playoffs. That's all that matters. All of the whiners/complainers about him will eat crow when he wins Super Bowl MVP.
