Got what he deserved?
He's a young coach who had had a good job learning under Pete Carroll in Seattle after being part of that clown show Bears operation, and then seemed like a last choice hire in Philly after the whole Gannon/Cardinals Fangio/Eagles situation played out (resulting in a draft pick swap for tampering). He was, at best, their 3rd choice DC and there was no way to hide that, so already kind of neutered upon arrival with a unit pretty devoid of high end contributors beyond Jalen Carter and Josh Sweat. Bradberry, Cox, Leonard and Graham are all cooked; Slay's career is fading; Jordan Davis hasn't proven to be much of a difference maker; and the rest are just guys. So I'm not sure how it could be said that he deserves what has happened over the past 9 months.
I'm sure after Monday night he probably wishes he could have just stayed behind with Pete.
If you're going to fire a coach, then fire them. Plenty of coaches get fired and bounce back. But I don't believe that anyone deserves that kind of public de-balling in a job where you have to lead people.
