Damn. I have not comported myself well here (too much alcohol.") But the feels. I am actually tearing up right now. I am right there in age and health with you right now. I will be praying for you. Truthfully, praying.

Thanks for the update Les. Jon and I have talked a number of times, and he is a good hearted fellow.

Jon, if you happen to read this, we are all wishing the best for you. Get well soon, and hurry back.

I've heard from Jon and the news isn't good. He's hoping to get better treatment soon but is pretty down right now.

I asked if I could pass on information about him to our family and he agreed and said to say hi to all. Please keep him in your thoughts, he's a good guy and I personally miss him.

Good to hear from you! I hope all is well. I've gotten
sicker again
unfortunately. My kidneys started going downhill again, and
then I got
Clostridium Difficile (deadly gut bacterial infection) for
the third time in
a year. The first two almost killed me. This one they caught
early enough to
treat it before I got as bad as last time.

I ended up having to leave my teaching job last month
because the pain and
illness got to be too much unfortunately. I was really
excited that I was
feeling well enough to teach again. I loved teaching. It was
who I am. Then
the illness just took over and I had to give two week's
notice. They begged
me to stay, and I tried so hard. But the inevitable happened
and I quit.
I've been getting sicker and sicker since I've been home. I
don't know why.
Doctors are stumped. I've been on "suicide watch" with my
family for the
last few weeks unfortunately. I don't blame them for being
worried. But it's
the way it goes.

I got to watch the Hawks today. It was great to see them
play and play so
well against the Giants. My wife and kids watched the game
with me and
cheered the team on. We all had a good time and it was
no-stress whatsoever,
which was good!

Say hi to everybody for me. I hope to get feeling better and
that I'm able
to drop in and say hello to the gang. I just don't feel I
have much to offer
because I am so negative about life and I know I have kind
of a reputation
for being a negative naybob anyway, so it's kind of a bad
combo. I wish I
could be myself this season and enjoy it with all of you. I
was supposed to
come to town and watch the Hawks play the Titans, and about
3 days before I
got really really sick, and had to cancel. My wife had to
fly up by herself
for a wedding, and I've been feeling progressively worse
since that weekend.
Not cool.

Jon is only 40 so this kind of thing really sucks.

:les:
Man that hurts. I loved chatting with him and was wondering where he has been. He had such great insight on Utah teams.

He and I had discussed going to a game together because I deal with chronic pain (3 back surgeries, 1 neck surgery, 20 screws, 4 rods and 1 plate) and we could lean on each other :D . Fortunately I"m doing a lot better but I really hope and pray that Jon gets better too.

I remember SharkHawk from my early days on this board. He would always post very long and opinionated posts but he seemed respected by this board and I followed him closely.

Get well soon fellow .netter!

I am now praying for you often Jon. Your offer of assistance to me if I needed it last summer, someone you never met no less, speaks volumes about the kind of person you are and the heart you have. Sincerely hoping for your recovery, and soon!!

Thanks for putting this on the main board where it belongs Les.

Your job here is not yet complete sir!

So, as much as you may feel like it sometimes, you aren't goin' anywhere!

We got Championships to win and champagne to drink, parties to attend and opposing fans to taunt ...

Prayers brother!

Please hang in there, SharkHawk. I can't really imagine what you are dealing with, but try to keep in mind that a lot of people you haven't met care for you. I am sending you all my best thoughts, and hope for much brighter days ahead.

Radish, if you still have contact with SharkHawk, can you send him the following info:

Clostridium Difficile is normally caused by anitbiotics. If you have contracted CDF 3 times in a year, than it's a high likelihood that the CDF is recurring due to a high dosage of prescribed antibiotics. If you are a cancer patient undergoing chemotherapy treatments, this can also cause CDF by killing and stifling the growth of helpful bacteria in the gut.

One of the best things you can do to help treat Clostridium Difficile is to start taking probiotics. You want to increase the helpful bacteria in your gut. The probiotics will help your body naturally fight the bacterial infection by bringing balance back to your digestive system. Yogurt is a great natural probiotic and there are also some great concentrated probiotics at GNC and Whole Foods. You may want to stick with the concentrated probiotics until your gut gets balanced again.

Whole Foods and GNC both sell time-release or capsule probiotics that are formulated to survive your stomach acid and release into the intestines. Stick with this type of probiotic. This article has good info:

Hope you start feeling better soon.
