I don't believe the contract terms mentioned by the rumor. That averages out to be $13.5M per year. The franchise tag for DE is around $17.7M. I don't think Clowney would settle for less than that. No way would he do a 2 year deal. It just doesn't make sense, when he was asking for $21+M/yr that he would settle for something almost 50% less. His market has dropped but not to that level. That looks more like an Everson Griffen type of deal, not Clowney.

No way Clowney comes this cheap. Absolutely no way, and for 2 years at that rate? It's insulting to him. If I were him I'd rather sit out a year, get fully healthy, and give it another go next year.

The market for Clowney was always overblown. He wasnt ever going to get anywhere near what some were reporting. Add in the current situation, where no suitors can give him a physical, and you get a short, prove it deal, from the team that already knows his medicals.

100% serious. I did get the contract details but was told not to share. It's a great deal for Seattle this year. Leaves lots of room.

I'm pretty confident over it.

Seems low, but would love it if true. Maybe 2 yrs, $27 guaranteed with other provisions/escalators.
