I don’t hate it.. but I’m mixed on it. Maybe because I’m past yrs when I’ve heard about us having olinemen who moves around around to different positions.. they’re always subpar. So maybe what they explained about him just has me kinda meh
He's been good when he has played all those positions though. It's different than when you take a tackle and then are like "well, his best position in the NFL might be guard".

I love the pick, but I'm shocked JS picked an IOL in the top 20. Honestly, I was expecting a WR or the best defensive player on their board.
With Golden still there, I thought he would pick him.

But I'm more than cool with this.

The team had a major need going into this draft, OG. They drafted a OG at pick 18. Hutchinson was drafted at 17. This player had a draft value between pick 13 and pick 27. Zabel was a flat out star at the Senior Bowl, JS likes players who show up at the Senior Bowl.

He was a top OLine player with his explosiveness, a college wrestler, good sized and an ideal candidate at a position of need. Besides he was the best fit for a zone blocking scheme which is what the team will do this year, and the #2 ranked OG regardless of scheme.

The grumblers can grumble but for me this was a good solid pick, and a real departure for JS who historically underrates interior OLinemen. If JS picked this player and he did ,he is regarded by the team as an exceptional choice.

I agree!

He’s our new LG.

To be fair, there are only several "grumblers" here.

Most of the crowd is excited for this pick.
