FYI his issues started well prior to yesterday.

Are you going to provide anything to support that assertion?

always amazing how the facts almost always shows the anti-Wilson crowd is clueless and resort to making crap up/

The only thing those stats prove is how boom or bust the offense has been.

You want to cherry pick the first 5 games this year? How about the last 5 games last year?

What you will find is inconsistency.

He picked the 5 games because that's all Wilson played this year at that point. Not cherry picking.

Dude look back at play where he threw it up to lockett near endzone that Amos almost picked off. Amos was playing nearer to middle deep route ...[/quote said:
Are you talking about the 4th qtr play where we were driving and had a chance to score?

Just watched it on all 22. It was a terrible play. Lockett had a guy trailing and over the top.. Gb had better position on the ball than we did AND RUSSEL HAD SWAIN OPEN TO HIS LEFT. WIDE OPEN for at least 6 or 7 yards.

On the same drive, 3 plays prior, he had Everett open right in front of him and chose to scramble for a modest gain.

Same series just before that play, he had Everett running wide open across the field right to left for what would have been a huge gain. Easy pass.

I feel like I should do a .net zoom call so everyone can see the nonsense some here are trying to defend. There's no hate here.

And the defense that wr x wasn't his primary read is the biggest bunch of BS I've ever heard. The great QBs in this league get the ball to the one place a defender isn't over and over and over again.

And the ' he chucks it up because nobody is open' defenae is just completely and utterly wrong.

Well, you better hope that Wilson gets better.

Because he is one of the few things worth anything on this team.

Pete is essentially worthless. He has been a liability for some time.

So complain all you want but the only hope of winning is in Wilson's hands.

Pete has been done, used, and washed for a while. Wilson carried him for years.

Now Wilson needs some help and Pete just shovels harder into his garbage festival of dinosaur football.

Without Wilson we got nada, so we should all hope this is more due to rust, lack of time, and not being 100% due to injury.

What universe is this? Pete, the scapegoat for all things wrong with the team has literally just put together the only element of this team that's now worth anything. It wasnt great to start and you can fault him for not making some changes sooner, you also cant overstate the importance of T Brown on defense. The defense is whats been keeping us in games for a few weeks now.

Russel has been solved since the first Arizona game last year.

If anything, Pete should catch hell for allowing a 11-40 run to pass ration and not blasting 20 for 40 and 2 absurdly bad picks. But that's also his problem for not coming down more forcefully on the BS circus that was this offseason and putting up with the same nonsense passing game every week.

Bro, the below is the problem with this team.

Pivotal drive (the drive that Russ heaved the int on to Lockett. He has not one, not two, but three options on this play. And he has protection. Collins as the outlet, DK crossing shallow, Diss slightly deeper. Three choices and he leaves the pocket!!

Oh but wait... maybe he coudnt see them? or.. maybe they werent the 'primary'... well then you have Everett breaking wide open in front of him for the first and wide open room to run.

But yeah. Waldron drew up a play with literally three wr open at any given point and it didnt work because Pete told Russ to not throw it..

Would be happy to share more... i just stopped on a random play and grabbed a screenshot

What was puzzling is the play calling. The GB DBs were playing back and were not allowing the long pass yet we kept trying. Our WRs were not getting separation or coming back to the ball. Russ continued to look for someone long instead of going for quick outs and up the middle to the RBs, TEs etc. Russ continues to hold the ball way to long. From here on out he is going to be rushed like crazy. If you watched Rodgers he got rid of the ball very fast and quickly identified the open receiver. Was throwing long Pete's or his OC's plan. I do not know. Either way it is not working.

The problem is Russell doesn't want the kind of help he needs. More weapons and more throws is what he wants. That doesn't fix his issues. He NEEDS a strong running game to compliment his strength of hitting the PA deep shots. This, however means a good game stats wise for him would 225-250 yds, 2 TDs. That doesn't fit his image of himself.

The delusion is real, or maybe everybody who thinks Russ is some kind of victim just doesnt take the time to look at the plays after the fact, because i think somebody claimed that this was Russ chucking it up because his WRs cant get open...

same drive as the images above

Swain coming open for an easy 8 to 12 yard pickup. nobody else open, especially not Lockett

Swain now obviously breaking open and Russ looking his way. no way he throws to Lockett as the over the top Safety is running his pattern with him and the trailing safety is in pursuit.

THIS IS THE MOMENT RUSS THROWS THE BALL - Wide open WR open for a first down or minimum 8 yard gain and he chucks it up when the safety is deeper than Lockett is. This is complete BS and NOT the kind of play you force when you have more than enough time on the clock to come back, need at least a FG to keep pressure on GB, have protection, and an option open. Its not the kind of play a $30+ million player misses. And he missed many. I can do this all day. And it doesnt look any different in full speed.

Wilson through 40 passes However 30 were short. so that means only 10 were long, per ESPN play-by-play. The GB defense was fine giving up the short pass, and not allowing Yac Which we got very little of. They were not going to give up the big play. The only time he looked mostly long was during the least 2 drives where well it was do or die.

The problem for me is the lack of adjustment to this as it was obvious in the 1st qtr. Now I cant say our new OC is the issue. first year. I can say PCs teams have always failed dot adjust on both sides of the ball. so to me its PC.

were are the rub routes, why wasn't Wilson bootlegging more, etc etc the same stuff we wonder about after every game. Were was the Rams type of motion stuff other than 1 or 2 drives I saw little of it.

Since some on here like to make stuff up like Wilson forced his way to play and that's why we lost, no evidence of that. or we could not take snaps from under center, again the video clearly shows PC saying he had no problems doing it during practice or warmups but they decided to not take chances. How about this one, PC knew we had no chance to win so put Wilson out there figuring well if we win great if not it's all Wilson's fault.

Now, do I really believe it? mostly, no about 95% no, but.

I really wish there was an option to watch the all22 views vs the broadcast view. It would dispell a lot of myths and false narratives. Alas, with the broadcast view you get assumptions and stats with zero context.

Russell has been in the league for 10 years. He isn't changing to any significant degree until his arm forces him too. The offensive structure when we had Lynch was and still is the best situation for him to win big games and post season games. He is not good enough to win in the post season doing he and everyone else thinks he should be doing. Manning barely got it done 1 time at his peak. It took an Elway type post prime run with a top D to get number 2. The list of QBs that have the combination of talent and command of the position in all aspects to a level capable of winning a SB with the team built around them is incredibly small. To date only Brady has more than 1 doing that and his teams were structured in all different types of ways. Thinking Russell can do that is pure fantasy.

What would Russell be if the team somehow got beat in those 2 nfc championship games instead of going 1-1 8n those SBs? Does he even get a shot to have the team built around him? Does the praise come like it did early on, even though it took years for a lot media to jump on his train? Does he get the volume increase that he's got post LOB to bump his numbers up to equal the other star QBs on a yearly basis? Is he considered a HOFer by without those SBs?

You can go back to last year's meltdown and its the same thing every game through the end of the season. Those LBS aren't even honoring that underneath route. The other issue is when he does dump it off, he does it so late that it's often a catch and immediate tackle. No YAC. The really good QBs like Brady, Brees, Manning, Erin, when they see that the back releasing is gonna have a ton of space they hit him right away allowing him to maximize the yardage on the play. That's when you see dump offs go for huge gains.

More facts? Another potentially game changing positive play that ends in a sack that draws criticism for lack of protection...

2nd qtr. this is the play where DK was wide open and Russ saw him could have stepped up into an open pocket and instead hops backward into a sack

Dk runs a double move and breaks open

Ball needs to come out now. No DB has position on DK or is even running with him. Russ SEES HIM. plain as day. pay attention to his drop. he's planted and ready to let it rip... you'll see it from behind the play below.

51683511763 ca51b61269 z2021-11-15_11-39-12 by J_Otte, on Flickr

Wide open pocket to step into and a wide open WR for a huge play and he hop skips BACKARD into a sack. This play looks really bad at speed...

Sacked... But its the o-Line, right. Not Russ...

From behind the play now... Russ looks the defenders off. Perfect

51684138055 d73fdfbb51 z2021-11-15_11-38-27 by J_Otte, on Flickr

He looks back left and has DK wide open. this is the same moment shown above with DK's hand up...
But what does Russ do?

51684135425 17043045d1 z2021-11-15_11-38-15 by J_Otte, on Flickr

WIDE OPEN POCKET TO STEP INTO. The only pressure is coming from behind him... and he literally rolls into a ball and jumps into the DE

51682453922 04d4ae29cc z2021-11-15_11-38-01 by J_Otte, on Flickr

You dont get a cleaner pocket to step into or a WR more open then DK on this play and RW missed both.

Somebody from the RW fan club tell me what Pete had to do with this? or how the playcall was bad? or the blocking?

Like i said, can do this all day.

Evidence that RW isnt the best at making pregame reads? Before you scroll down, see if you can figure out where the reads are in this play. hint - look at the corner play on the left side

51683567058 3f6c2fce89 z2021-11-16_12-14-31 by J_Otte, on Flickr

The LB is playing outside and you have to think the DE might also drop. The safety on the left is playing high.

51683302266 ddefc08c09 z2021-11-16_12-14-53 by J_Otte, on Flickr

The DE drops but DK splits the coverage and heads to the middle breaking wide open. Notice the safety over DK has actually dropped back into the endzone and out of the play anticipating a corner break by DK. Also notice the MLB could literally give to Sh!t$ because he knows we dont throw to the middle.

51682511902 f0314a9a2d z2021-11-16_12-15-18 by J_Otte, on Flickr

And DK is wide open. no safety help. and instead we throw an out thats stopped right away. AND THIS IS ONE OF THE MAJOR ISSUES WITH THE NARRATIVE THAT RUSS DOESTHROW SHORT. Yes. he does. but its usually a catch and throw where there's literally no thought given to coverage, little evidence of really seeing the field or anticpating opportunities. And this happens over and over again. game to game. And this is what separates Russ from the elite QBs. Like i said... happens multiple times every game. And this drive ended in an INT a couple of plays later. Thats 14 points on two potential TD plays to DK in the first half. instead, we trail 3-0.

Another example came in week 4 against the 9ers. early first half. You can argue the play design was supposed to go one way and thats why he throws this ball...

51596828147 506a7abfc2 zVs 9ers by J_Otte, on Flickr

But he has off coverage to the right and press on the slot to the left. with a corner that he should know might blitz. And of course he is going to blitz... theres no RB in the backfield and the LT cant block two guys at once. Right there, Russ should be thinking about what happens right after the snap... and be prepared to roll right.

51597645721 cdb86f6390 zVs 9ers by J_Otte, on Flickr

But the D knows Russ forces the ball to DK and Lock most of the time, so thats what they play. they blitz from that side. Again. this happens over and over again to Russ and he refuses to give up going to his two BFFs the majority of the time.

51597863023 58527b6dfd zVs 9ers by J_Otte, on Flickr

Both wr's to his right are wide open...

And whats REALLY frustrating is that the Niners KNOW we wont take advantage of the opportunity. Defenses do Sh!+ like this to us game after game. If Russ hits either of the two options to his right, either one then has a blocker and a tackle to break to hit a huge play. There's nobody else on that side of the field. And instead we throw into the face of a blitz with no backfield help.

The plays that are being drawn up work more often than they dont. Can we run more screens? yeah. but we did when Geno was in ... but not with russ. the WR's are open. We crapped 14 points in the first half on plays Erin would have made in a heartbeat, yet we sit her squablng about conspiracy theories that have a coach apparently deliberately sacking plays that work so that he can force his particular style of play... even in games where we run 11 times against 40 throws.

It might be hard to sometimes see the flaws in the sports heroes we choose to follow. but seeing the basics of x's and o's aint all that complicated. The problem here is beyond obvious and has been for a while, whether we choose to believe it or not. Doesnt matter who the OC is or how complex the scheme. if the QB cant make the presnap read to hit the right play or get the ball out on time, nothing is going to work.

It's maddening. I think the biggest indictment of Pete is not handcuffing Russ or refusing to change with the times like everyone parrots endlessly without actually being able to tell you how (4th down stuff aside), but was his capitulation to Russell. He got away from who he is as a coach to accommodate the QB. It's a dangerous move to put your fate in someone else's hands.

Bill did it right. He never compromised. They won a lot and Tom left when he wanted to call the shots. Now Bill is spinning it up again with a solid rookie QB

Exactly. The proof is everywhere. go back and look at film of Russ's GREAT plays. They are all similar. broken tackle (whether because the line didnt hold or he held the ball too long), miraculous escape, crazy pass and catch. Over. and over . and over. Or deep play action drop and bombs away. And if you dont know any better you'd look at it and probably think - wow. this team is awful but for #3. And its all been hyped up even more by the media. Do you think they give two Sh!t$ about how a given play was SUPPOSED to work? No. All they care about is that #3 puts up some pretty sweet highlights.

And dont get me wrong, Russ is one of my all time favorite Hawks, But that doesnt make him God, especially when his flaws are on display and obvious week in and week out. And its all made worse when he seems to improve little now in year 10, and instead uses the media hype train to double down on the ' if only i had a better supporting cast ' narrative. But again, the media doesnt care, and the majority of the fans get their opinons more from the highlight reels or the gameday broadcast that show less than half of what actually happens on a given play.

But its #3 who is in part responsible for how bad they look. Guarantee you without the ALL22, the vast majority of fans walk away from the game against the Pack saying RW was a little rusty but his offense is horrible... or that the game went EXACTLY how Pete wanted it. BS. It was 0-3 in the 4th because we crapped the bed in big moments... and why? just like you said... PC relented, let his QB and OC run things the way they wanted, and despite again the running game being a strength of the offense, and again watching Russ miss play after play, let his QB throw friggin 40 times against 11 runs. Tell me what experienced NFL OC, HC or QB would look at a game where its basically a draw going into the final stanza and come to the decision that throwing is the best thing to do all game??

I can answer that. One where the HC who is KNOWN FOR SMASHMOUTH BALL, caters to his QB and lets him play sandlot ball.

It worked 3 years ago when Russ had speed and defenses hadnt yet seen all of his tendencies. But with the continued stubborn rejection of the run game and passes to the TE's, there's no way in the world this offense will ever be anything again through the air. Defenses have seen it all. and frankly, their disregard for our ability to exploit their strategies is embarrassing. They invite us to do it and instead we fold up and die.

Wilson is not the same player he was 5 years ago or even 3 years ago. Alot of what made him great was his ability to make defenses pay with his legs. He doesn't do that anymore he rarely ever runs and when he does he's getting ran down . He's not the same dynamic player he was people around her just want to pretend Wilson's game hasn't declined everything is fine and make excuses. Well it's time for you guys to understand the best move is to trade him now while he still has value and rebuild. We wait it's only going to get worse.

Wilson's game is not going to change by bringing in another coach that's a red herring. There's an argument to be made for firing Pete certainly but Russ is not a great QB anymore. I'm tired of the 3 and outs i'm tired of the 3rd down disasters. Wilson's entire game right now is based on the long ball you can't sustain drives like that or ToP . Wilson can still be very good with a good o-line and a great RB but we don't have that by the time Seattle does it will be 2024 and he'll be gone anyway. Trade him now get a couple firsts if we even can suck next year then find a QB in the following years draft. I'm not completely writing Wilson off, but i for sure will be unless his play gets dramatically better between now and the years end and honestly i don't see that happening. Something has happened to his game and i'm not convinced it will ever be the same.

One more point he should not start against Arizona it's obvious he's still a couple weeks away. It doesn't serve him or the team running him out there in likely another cold wet game when he's clearly not ready.
