Maybe it's the homer in me, but the more I think about it, the more I am thinking that this IS the best defense ever. Let's think about this:
1) I'm pretty sure there were more points scored in the NFL this year than any year prior (correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure this is accurate), a CLEAR indication of the direction of the league.
2) The new rules put in place have almost ALL favored offenses giving them an advantage.
3) We beat the highest scoring offense, with one of the all time great QB's coming off his greatest season ever, on the biggest stage in sports and held them to a single garbage-time TD.
Guys, given these facts, I don't think we can come to any other conclusion: Our 2013 Seahawks were the best defense in NFL history.
