Honest question to Pope supporters:

How did he do in pass protection? We know how much the coaches care about RB abilities to pass block. It's a huge reason Michael never got going the first time around.

He didn't have many pass blocking opportunities. When he did, he looked terrible at blocking.

As I see all the hand wringing and anger and frustration on this thread I sit here and wonder how many people on these boards thought Thomas Rawls wasn't worthy of a roster spot last year or at the very least were pretty meh. <shrug>

That matters to PC. Like a lot.

Now, i don't put a lot of stock in preseason games alone. A totality of contributions is necessary. That includes many practices and work int he classroom in which we're not privy to.

We may not sign Gresham, but all those that had issues with the LS situation are now validated, 4 try outs? They want to fix it as soon as the can.

It was never a Collins vs. Pope thing. It was Prosise over Pope. Pope wasn't competing with Collins (different type of back), he was competing with Prosise and they chose Prosise. With Tuk being cut, it makes sense to keep Collins. He was the better blocker of the remaining backs. I completely get why they kept Collins. The head scratchers are cutting Pope over Prosise and cutting Tuk.
