Now that Pete is no longer HC, do we roll with Geno?

Geno just doesn't have it upstairs. Plus, there will be a new offense introduced so Geno's advantage of being here for a long time is over.

Might as well keep lock for 7 million and dump Geno.
That would possibly be a good strategy, imo. But we can't "keep" Lock - he's a UFA. We may be able to sign him cheap? But would he fit into the new OC's scheme? Would the new OC want him?

Geno did as well as he did in part because of his familiarity with the system in place. Could he learn a new system in a few months? Maybe, but I wouldn't bet more than $20M on it. On the other hand, if you bring in someone to take his place that guy will have to learn a new system too, so...
I'd think hard about letting Geno, keeping Lock, and draft a QB in this year AND next year draft, but we HAVE TO FOCUS on fixing the trenches.
Geno might actually have to call an audible in the new offense. Good luck with that.

It seems like everything's on the table now. I want to hear if JS is out too or not. That's a big dangle out there that hasn't been publicly revealed as of yet.

Lock had to learn a new offense every year he's been in the league.

For those wanting to move on from Geno, please tell me who you would replace him with to improve the Seahawks. Please only list replacements that would cost less than $22.5M as that is both his salary and the amount of cap that would be saved with his release.

Also don't forget that we must have a replacement lined up before 5 days after the SB because Geno's 2024 salary becomes guaranteed on that date.

tldr; Geno will be here for the 2024 season.
Draft a qb early in the draft and re sign lock. Or sign Russell Wilson on a one year prove it deal

We have to for now but we need to look to the future as Geno is on the back side of his career. We still have time to draft a good one and for them to have time in the system before the weight of the program is placed on them.

I think any HC worth his salt will take one look at the HC position and say ' we're good there ' and move on to the actual problems on the team.
That doesn't make any sense.

He'll look at the position he filled himself?

Interested to hear what the overall consensus here is now that Pete is no longer the head coach. Will he "advise" the new coach to roll with Geno?
Pete is no longer head of football operations. His advice carries little weight.

Expensive bridge, and they'd be wise to cut the cord now. Otherwise, Geno will pull out games against bad teams, like against the Commies and Titans, keeping them mediocre.

They need to take a step back, so they can take a proper step forward.

Put him behind a real OLine and watch Geno and K9 flourish..... hope he gets a chance at that if not here then somewhere else.

Geno's the 2nd lowest paid starting QB, not on a rookie contract. He's the 18th highest-paid QB in the league. And he finished in the top half of the league in most metrics. It seems unlikely that they'd move on.

this opens up everything. New coaches all down the line. Probably make QB draft pick too. Keep Geno for a year or so to mentor. New assistant coaches!!!
