Is Sowell still on the Seahawks? No mention of him.

LT - Gilliam, LG - Sowell, C- Lewis, RG - Webb, RT - Ifedi

I think most are expecting Sowell to get beaten out by Gilliam (they're in a competition at LT). If that happens he's an easy cut with only 200k dead cap, whereas it's more expensive to cut Webb than it is to keep him this year. Of course Sowell is also cheap enough to take a utility spot if Poole loses his roster spot.

After the Odhiambo pick I think it's:
LT - Gilliam
LG - Britt
OC - Lewis
RG - Glowinski
RT - Ifedi
Util #1: T/G - Webb
Util #2: G/C - Sokoli
Inactive #1: OG Odhiambo
Inactive #2: OT Poole

With Britt/Webb/Odhiambo in a three way competition for LG where Odhiambo eventually moves up as the season progresses.

Rees ObhiamBo has a really good chance to start. Experienced and come from a pro style offense. I give him a better shot at beating Britt than Ifedi has of beating Webb.

As of this moment, here's how I think it'll shake out after preseason.

LT: Gilliam, Sowell, Odhiambo
LG: Webb, Odhiambo, Britt
C: Lewis, Nowak, Sokoli
RG: Glowinski, Britt, Sokoli
RT: Ifedi, Webb, Poole

I think the fact that they haven't selected a C means they are okay with Soko as the backup and possibly a future starter. Nowak is not very good.

Doesn't Glow have some experience as a C?

Post draft I think:
LT Gilliam
LG Webb to start season, but Odhiambo will take over after 4 or 5 games.
C Pat Lewis, (aka the mentor) lol.
RG Glow
RT Ifedi

Can't wait to see how Sokoli and poole have progressed. I think this line has a chance to be pretty good. Whole different attitude than the line we had last year. They threw the two strongest linemen in the draft into the mix. These guys have a chance to grow with eachother, got me excited again.

Just a side note:

We needed offensive lineman, ya'll wanted offensive lineman?!

Well you got 'em!!

2016
1 Germain Ifedi OT
3 Rees Odhiambo OG
6 Joey Hunt C

2015
4 Terry Poole OT
4 Mark Glowinski OG
6 Kristjan Sokoli G/C

That's a crazy investment in O-lineman, pretty awesome. :th2thumbs:

Ideally it will look like this:

LT: Gilliam (Sowell)
LG: Odhiambo (Britt)
C: Hunt (Lewis)
RG: Glowinski (Sokoli)
RT: Ifedi (Webb, Poole)

That would mean that all of our rookies panned out, and we will have a cheap, young line that can gel together for years. Great SparQ at 3 positions (LT, RT, RG), a super-intelligent center who can handle the calls and lead the line, and a LG with good pass blocking ability. We have experienced backups (Sowell, Lewis, Webb) to cover ever position should injury occur, and we have some developmental guys (Britt, Sokoli, Poole) who could replace the vets as primary backups in a couple of years.

This happens to be one of the items in my top-10 list of things I'll be watching this year: Is Terry Poole making significant strides in his development this offseason? Is our front office glad they spent a draft pick on him last year? Will he ever be more than an occasional/situational backup? Right now, he's a bit of a mystery to me. If he's serviceable as a backup tackle I guess I can be content with that, but it seemed a year ago the expectation was that he would at some point be more than that. I guess we'll see...

Ifedi and Glowinski look like cornerstones to me. Guys who stand good chances of getting a rare 2nd contract offer.

Odhiambo will start sooner than later and be servile through out his rookie contract. Hunt may follow a similar path, but if he does I can see him getting a second contract because serviceable centers are typically pretty cheap.

Sokoli is a wild card.

#1-
Gilliam-Webb-Hunt-Glow-Ifedi

Backup Line-
Sowell-Odhiambo-Lewis-Sokoli-Britt

These 10 OL guys will likely make the 53-man roster

Carroll recently said Ifedi will start out at RG and Webb will start out at RT.

LT Gilliam, Sowell
LG Britt, Odhiambo, Sokoli
C Lewis, Hunt
RG Ifedi, Glowinski
RT Webb, Poole

I think Odhiambo could takeover the utility role that Bailey played, while pushing Britt at left guard.

Anyone know if Glow can play LG?

He hasn't, but no reason he couldn't, unless they want to continue his development at RG.
