And your new, Head Coach of the Seattle Seahawks..... Bobby Slowik! LETSSS GOOO!!!!
I'd be cool with that but he didn't get a second interview. John must not have been too blown away.

So what would that mean? The Seahawks waited on him and he flopped in the interview?

I find it likely the Seahawks told him after the interview they would not be hiring him. Let me flip it.. why did Ben Johnson wait until after the Seahawks interview but before the commanders interview if he what he said was completely true? Why waste your time meeting with the hawks?

Is it possible the Seahawks are not that attractive to young head coaches? It sounds like Johnson took one look at his options and wanted no part of them.

It is possible. You don't have a second round pick, you have an older QB, your cap situation is terrible and you have one of the worst defenses in the league. I think there are enough positives though that someone could come in and do well but its going to be an uphill battle next year because of the defense/cap space and draft resources imo.

Exactly. The state of things is pretty terrible, but i'm excited to start the new chapter. I'm not expecting much for the next couple of years and i'm totally fine with that.

But why was the defense one of the worst? I'd say the biggest reasons are now gone. And, the aging QB can be easily moved on from. Cap situation can be vastly improved by trimming the fat. The picks are a concern though.

Well he was not the type we wanted then, easy to walk into a 49er team like Harbaugh and win, easy to walk into a Philly team mostly built and win, much harder to build something that's lasting for a long time such as Pete and Mike Holmgren did here. Running scared from something challenging tells me all I need to know if that's the case. Besides Geno isn't that bad, the team has a lot of high end skill players, we need help on the lines. and LB mostly. The cheapest salaried players on teams usually. So cap space is going to be fine to bring in FA and we have drafts not to mention our IR stash of players.

We know the Hawks wouldn't be worried about the money. My guess is the collaborative, player-friendly culture might put off a young coach that's more of a taskmaster though.

Johnson, MacDonald, and Evero are all 2nd year coordinators. There's nothing to say that they will be good administrators like a HC needs to be. In that regard, I think we have as soft a landing spot a rookie HC could ask for since there's a retiring HOF HC still on our staff that can act as a mentor.
