I don't doubt Quest would be awesome to see a game at... But I do recall some years back, when Seattle wasn't very good, Packer fans took over out there.... When we were horrible in the 80's, that NEVER happened to the Packers where an opposing team's fans came and took over Lambeau.... Never....
That's because Green Bay, WI isn't within a hundred miles of anything remotely resembling a vacation destination most people would want to go to.

Go there to visit Lambeau Field, and....

And...

And.....

Uh, stuff. I guess.

I lived in Wisconsin through the 90s, don't try to hustle me. 8)

This largely depends on your definition. You can take the history there and stick it in a new stadium and that's the main reason behind those that say that. Lambeau itself is a meh stadium and the crowd's not particularly loud, and yes, I've attended a game there. If you want an objective opinion from a neutral fan (neutral to our teams, he's a Bills fan) that actually attended games at every NFL stadium in the country, then look here: http://www.nflfootballstadiums.com/

Here are his reviews for our two respective stadiums:

http://www.nflfootballstadiums.com/Qwest-Field.htm

I'd apologize that he ranks our house as #1, except I wouldn't mean it.

Just like I always feel compelled to mention how much I like Green Bay / Appleton whenever the subject comes up, Roland needs to mention how they're all hillbillies and that Green Bay isn't a real city because it doesn't have tall buildings and traffic.

We can't help it. I'm a hillbilly in East Oly (stray chickens and constant Toby Keith music), and he's in King County surrounded by excellence.

There's plenty of stray chickens in the County of KINGS! But my Toby Keith fan neighbor got tired of me calling Renton's Finest every time he played that crap and moved...good riddance.

Yea, I was at the 1996 game in Seattle when the Packers were out there. There was more Green and Gold in the stands and in the parking lot than Seattle colors. Most of the Seattle fans barely made it to the 3rd quarter. I think that was the quickest I was ever able to get out of a parking lot after a football game! :D

In fact, in Dallas 2 years ago, when the Packers would score, it got very loud and even when the Cowboys took the field on offense, the Packer fans were making a ton of noise. I have seen it in Tampa as well. Some of these games are literally home games for us.

Nobody travels as well as Packer fans. So many fans all over the US.

That is far from the truth. Just because Green Bay is not located in a huge metropolitan area, does not mean there is nothing near it. In fact, Green Bay and the surrounding area (especially within 100 miles!) has huge vacation destinations and places to go. I suggest you log into Google Maps and start looking. My next door neighbor here in Austin has a vacation home in Door County.

You aren't being hustled, you are being educated about Wisconsin. For someone who claims to have lived there, you seem to know very little about the state. You must have been very young. Also, we sell out and have for decades in a row. Opposing fans will never outnumber us in our stadium. However, that is not always the case in other venues.

Hustle you? Wasn't suggesting GB is little Chicago... Just telling you when your team sucked the fans didn't show up. When our team sucked there were 80,000 people on the waiting list...

I remember the game well because it was the SB season of 1996. The whole crowd out there was Packer fans, it was all over Wi newspapers... Found this youtube clip. Watch the pan out.... Listen to the crowd at the 35 minute mark when GB goes up 17-0. Listen to the crowd at the 1:59:59 mark when Favre throws if forth TD pass of the game.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJ3Tn2bmpDc

I lived in Marshall, a tiny town east of Madison. First (and only) fast food joint they got was a Jimmy John's when I was in junior high. I left to move back to Seattle when I was 17. I've been to East Towne Mall a billion times, eaten at Ella's Deli in Madison, shopped at The Pig in Waterloo, Aldi's and Woodman's in Madison, bowled at Boulavard Lanes a million times, eaten Butter Burgers at Culver's, been to Old World Wisconsin in Eagle, camped at Devil's Lake, been to the Dells plenty of times for Noah's Ark and Family Land and the like, "gone fishin' up north", visited Ho-Chunk Casino, listened to Johnny Danger on 94.1 WJJO radio aplenty, my uncle John was the pastor at St. John's WELS Lutheran Church in Jefferson for many years, my mom's family reunion was held every summer at the Columbus Fireman's City Park which was fun because the stage area upstairs made for a great play area when we were kids; I could go on, but this is probably sufficient.

I said there aren't any of what most people would consider to be vacation destinations within a hundred miles of Green Bay, and that's true. I know Door County. It's pretty in its way. Now come climb up Mount Rainier and go hiking in the Hoh Rainforest on the Olympic Peninsula, maybe catch a concert at The Gorge, and we'll show you what real outdoor attractions are.

Now go get your friggin' shinebox.

There MAY have been 80,000 people on the waiting list and they MAY have a lot of consecutive sellouts, but in the 80's when the Packers TRULY sucked, their attendance was NEVER at capacity. Attendance was at least 5000 under capacity with a bunch of games where there were OVER 20,000 empty seats. Congrats, your season ticket holders don't give them up even when the team is bad, but when the Packers are bad, those season ticket holders don't show up.

(SEATTLE) - It was Brett Favre at his MVP best and Rick Mirer at his worst Sunday. Favre threw four touchdown passes, one less than his career high, and Mirer threw a career-worst four interceptions and lost a fumble as the Green Bay Packers beat the Seattle Seahawks 31-10 Sunday. A pro-Green Bay crowd of 59,973, provided the Kingdome's first sellout of the season and those fans saw what they wanted.

So is it your contention that there were 30,000 GB fans there? I hope you aren't that stupid.

What is your point anyway? That was 1996. You are starting to act like a 49er fan.

Ptisme, a good part of the 90s were a dark time for Seahawks fans. Ken Behring bought the team and tried his best to move it to L.A., sabotaging the team at every opportunity. Really turned a lot of fans off for a while there. Paul Allen eventually bought the Seahawks and the rest is history. Also, look at our attendance and crowd noise accolades from PRIOR to Behring buying the Seahawks in the late 80s.

A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing: http://www.examiner.com/article/a-noise ... f-or-is-it
