Tell me you're unfamiliar with the concept of correlation vs causation without telling me you're unfamiliar with the concept of correlation vs causation.
Ya got me, they are not a better team even though they are 6-1 after the trade.

I personally don’t think the Sewald trade improved us. We are winning because we cut Pollock and Wong. Also Julio, Cal and Geno have been hot. Marlowe has also been a nice surprise.

The guys may have rallied behind the idea that we traded away one of our better players. I think it was Cal who basically said he wants to stick it to management and show them we can win.

Thanks for providing yet another example of your complete lack of understanding of the concept of correlation vs causation.

Sorry my opinion doesn't fit your criteria. I'm gonna go not worry about it, adios.

6-1 Since the trade.

They are balling since July 1. They are locked in. They are FINALLY playing with some heart like they did last year.
This is getting fun again. LFG!

Also, they absolutely ARE a better team the last month or so.

8-1 Since Trade

Sewald still hasn't pitched in a game Arizona won

Arizona has lost 8 straight

Guess he didn't make them a better team.

9-3 since the trade.

Munoz looking shaky and uncomfortable in the closer role so far.

Sure looks like we're missing Sewald these past 2 games since it's kind of starting to look like we don't have a closer anymore.

However, as I said in the O's series thread, Rojas and Canzone scored all 3 M's runs today. Good to see those guys contributing, but it's gonna be tough down the stretch if we don't have a guy we can have confidence in to shut down close games in big moments. 🤷‍♂️

It seems that the more we get deeply immersed in the playoff hunt, the more we'll be vulnerable to regretting that trade. In other words, the probability seems to be that Sewald will have been more valuable to us this year however the trade might pan out in the future. That was the risk all along, it seems to me. I just didn't think these hitters were going to offset the loss of Sewald this year. I could be wrong. We'll see.

3 game losing streak. All of them lost in either extra innings or the bottom of the 9th.

Too bad we don't have a closer anymore.

Kind of feels like the real M's are back. Sigh............
Not surprised they blew that game. Brash and Munoz are both wild af at times.

It’s not like this trade is a direct result of our record. There is no doubt Rojas and Canzone have helped, but we really could use Sewald.

If management was competent, they would have brought in a 2B and corner outfielder in the off-season, then we could have just kept Sewald. Instead they do what they always do. Go cheap in off-season, then trade away an asset to fill a need.
