Some blocking effort would be nice but would not be required if he can keep the offense moving in the HEAT against San Diego. Our defense would love him for that.

If he can't bloack then he is everything Bennett says he is, Give me Kellen Winslow effort both catching and blocking if you want to be a Super Star TE.

And notice there was no JR. on the end.

I would even take Todd Christenson or Mark Bavarro type effort and catching ability.

I think there's multiple reasons for him not doing a lot of blocking.

Firstly, he's a converted basketball player who apparently owns the rebound record at Miami. He doesn't have as much of a background in football as most other players do.

He's not real thick and he's not really a tight end, he's a wide receiver.

He has had some wrist injuries and I imagine the Saints were protecting him by not having him block a lot.

I would be curious to know if Sean Payton didn't want his tall, lanky receiver blocking, as opposed to Graham not wanting to block.

I really don't worry about his blocking because he is extremely valuable in other areas of importance, mainly the red-zone. You can't have everything.

Graham is a move tight end, not a blocking tight end, so Bennett is right, and, based on the evidence, it looks like Pete does not care. Graham rebounds high passes making him indefensible one he breaks press coverage. Graham graduated early at Miami, and THEN took up football, joining the NFL with ONE year of football experience. That is incredible. No wonder he is not a very good blocker, but only an incredible receiver. I am with Pete in using people for what they are best at, as specialists.

Bennett is right, and I don't care, because I will "settle for" a superstar receiver.

Unless Mike B is now the tight ends coach or off. coordinator he shouldn't be telling Jimmy what he needs to do, not his job.

Jimmy is an elite pass catching TE and yes people expect his role to change slightly from what it was in NO, but there is no indication that he doesn't want to or can't block. Maybe it just wasn't asked of him in NO.

If they brought him here to be Zach Miller I will be highly disappointed, that's not who he is (nor should he be) I hope they plan to take full advantage of his elite skills and add a blocking skill set to it or this move was dumb.

I want him to continue to be a nightmare matchup, extend drives and catch TDs, especially in the red zone, something this team desperately needs.

Our WR's block, it's what makes the running game so good, he better block down field, when you have guys that barely break 200 pounds throwing themselves in front of guys this guy better. Prima donna types that won't roll their sleeves up for the dirty work won't make it here.

The offseason is so insufferable with all of the fake rumors. I wonder what percentage of the time these reporters just blatantly fabricate something? This seemed to be one of those times.
